Ambridge Area School District Approves ‘Chicago’ as High School Musical

The Ambridge Area School District has approved ‘Chicago’ as the high school musical for next spring. This decision follows a week of controversy…after several complaints and concerns from parents were made known regarding the musical’s content. Some felt that ‘Chicago’s script and costuming are not age appropriate for a high school audience. In interview with Beaver County Radio’s Pat Septak, Dr. Joe D’Impario, the acting superintendent of schools in Ambridge, said the administration met with the musical’s director last night and came to an agreement, in which the show will go on as planned, but with some conditions, namely toning down the dialogue and costuming in the production. ‘Chicago’ will be presented at Ambridge Area High School March 10th through the 13th.
