Aliquippa City Council Running Out of Options Financially

Aliquippa City Council met last night and the city’s financial situation was the highlight of the meeting. According to Beaver County Radio news correspondent Sandy Giordano, Mayor Dwan Walker said they have exhausted all avenues and that that they’re going to have to be more aggressive in 2016. Walker said that because of the city’s current Act 47 status they have to go after $429,000 in uncollected trash bills. Berkheimer and Associates will be collecting all unpaid trash bills in 2016. Councilman Don Walker said anyone owing $500 or more, their names will be published, but if they can pay at least $100 their name won’t get turned in to collections.
