For the past several months scammers have accessed personal computers and placed not only viruses on them, but have obtained passwords and email addresses along with Facebook contacts, according to Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano. A frantic woman from the Erie area called her family here in the county about the issue.. She was advised to delete any info she thought was suspicious. Beaver County Detective Tim Staub advises against responding to the scammers whether they intercept your computer or call you by phone. A number that has popped up is a Chicago, Ill. exchange it is 1-312-967-5168, They say to the person answering we’re calling about your computer. Do not answer the phone, do not give out any info , a Staples tech services representative advises.. The tech said they even call the store, BEWARE!!! it is a scam!!!
