Aliquippa High School’s 1991 WPIAL FOOTBALL CHAMPS WILL BE HONORED ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2016 during halftime at the PIT.  The QUIPS  play Hopewell that evening. Frank Marocco was head coach. Aliquippa Elementary School principal A’frica T. Sheppard  announced the Marocco will be honored as Aliquippa’ UNSUNG HERO  for his accomplishments and as a man who made a difference in the lives of his players. on Saturday October 29  at the Fez by STRIVE4XLNTS, INC. a group  that was founded by Ms. Sheppard in 2011 to provide scholarships for students attending college from Aiquippa High School.Ms. Sheppard said in a recent interview she funded the scholarships for 4 years until the program got off the ground. Ms. Shepard is a 1991 graduate of Aliquippa High School. The group’s scholarships are named after her late grandmother Oprah l. Henderson, who was  a hairdresser.  Ms. Henderson was one of the founders of the Women’s Achievement Club in Aliquippa  in 1940.
