(Center Twp., Beaver County, Pa.) Pa State Police in Beaver are reporting that at 1:20 AM this morning a trooper observed a maroon in color Dodge Avenger with Pa Registration traveling on I-376 West Hopewell when the vehicle began taking off at a high rate of speed and in reckless disregard from multiple other police Departments in Beaver and Allegheny County.
Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle and it failed, engaging in a pursuit. The pursuit according to Troopers continued on I-376 West and into Center Township. Numerous attempts to stop the vehicle using the PIT maneuver failed and the pursuit continued until the vehicle became disabled on Wagner Road. The suspect tried to run off but was arrested with assistance from the Center Twp Police a short distance away.
State police have identified the suspect as 18-year-old Krzysztof McCauley.
The pursuit started when Rochester police tried to pull over McCauley for running a red light.
Rochester police radioed other departments about the situation after McCauley didn’t stop and a pursuit started, and that’s when state police spotted his vehicle on I-376.
He is currently being charged with fleeing and Eluding as Troopers continue to investigate.
