WBVP/WMBA Party With a Purpose Broadcast Saturday October 28, 2017

Beaver County Radio did a broadcast live from Party with a Purpose to benefit the Corner Stone of Beaver County. Frank Sparks  host of Teleforum and Ed “the master” Hermick were live on Beaver County Radio from  7 to 9 p.m. . The event highlighted three of Beaver Counties talented bands.  Bobby Thompson and the Groove led off the show followed by Mojo Dia and the Fireball Horns. The headline group of the night the Hoot Owls featured Cornerstone Executive Director Marie Timpano on drums. The Rochester Smokehouse donated dinner and the Rochester VFW the facility. Hoot Owls perform live at 11:10 a.m. on Notes on Local Entertainment October 26, 2017

The Hoot Owls will be performing live on the air during the Notes on Local Entertainment with Scott Tady, Entertainment Editor of the Beaver County Times portion of Teleforum with Frank Sparks on Thursday October 26, 2017 at 11a.m.. The Hoot Owls appearance will also be broadcast on Facebook Live!!

The Hoot Owls are one of the bands that will be playing at Rockin’ Thru the Ages Band Bash this Saturday night at the Rochester VFW from 6 to 10 p.m.. The concert benefits the Cornerstone of Beaver County. Tickets are still available at the cost of $35.00 call 724- 846-6400 for more information.

Bill Camp former owner of Fast and Friendly and Giant Eagle has Died.

One of Beaver Counties most prominent and popular businessman Bill Camp has died.  Mr. Camp was 81 years old and was a 1954 Graduate of Beaver Falls High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Bill and his Brother Jim opened Fast & Friendly Food Store in Beaver Falls in the 1960’s which grew into a chain of Convenience Stores throughout Beaver County. Bill then purchased the Giant Eagle in the old  GEE BEE’s plaza in the 80’s and then built Rochester Giant Eagle in the downstairs of the former Kaufmann’s Department store in the late 1980’s and built a second location in Chippewa in the 1990’s.  Bill was very visual in the community and loved helping others whether he knew you or not.  Bill played a very key role in the Tony Dorsett Mc Guire Memorial golf outing along with so many other charities that he supported throughout our community. Camp Sold his Grocery stores in the early 2000’s to spend more time with his family. He is survived by his wife and 5 children. Bill’s son Chris is the current owner of Fun For All in Cranberry. A viewing for Bill will be held today at the Devlin Funeral Home in Cranberry. Bill Camp will be laid to rest on Saturday morning.

Michael Rubinio the Executive Director of the United Way was a guest of Frank Sparks on Teleforum Thursday, October 19, 2017. Brianna D’Itri talks Domestic Violence Awareness Month on Teleforum

Brianna D’Itri was a guest on Teleforum with Frank Sparks this morning at Ten O’clock. Brianna is the Medical Advocacy Education and Outreach Specialist at the Women’s Center of Beaver County.

The main reason for her appearance was to talk about October being Domestic Violence Awareness month. The listeners were told that there are many different types of domestic violence and that it isn’t always physical and that there are many other forms of domestic violence some examples are verbal and emotional.  Brianna said that the Women’s Center of Beaver County isn’t only for women as their name infers. They are there for everyone who feels that they have been thru this major trama. The Women’s Center is there to support and assist victims of domestic violence even if they just need someone to talk to. Brianna also talked about the great partners they have in the community that assist them with their mission.

Teleforum Preview for October 18, 2017

Today on Teleforum with Frank Sparks from 9 am to 12 noon Frank’s guests are Dale Reckless from MRS Physical Therapy in the 9 o’clock hour and Anne Colella-Murray the Education Training Coordinator of the Women’s Center of Beaver County in the 10 o’clock hour. Anne will be on to talk about the Women’s Center and that October is National Domestic Violence awareness month. From 11 to 12 Frank will have open talk. Senior Day at the Beaver Valley Mall was Fantastic!!!!!!!!

   

Beaver County Radio did a live broadcast at Senior Day at the Beaver Valley Mall on Wednesday October 11, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Frank Sparks, host of Teleforum and Diane Brosius, host of Yankee trader hosted all the fun. Frank and Diane interviewed many of the vendors that were at Senior Day presented by the Beaver County Office on Aging. Angela Gentile from the Office on Aging works hard throughout the year to bring great Senior Day’s at the Mall to the residents of Beaver County. The theme was I.T./Technology. Angela explained that with today’s technology some of our seniors feel lost and confused and she thought it would be a good thing to showcase the different types of education that is available to bring seniors up to speed. Some of the vendors that were at Senior Day highlighted many of the available resources for Seniors in Beaver County from Healthcare to activities to get out and enjoy life.
