Vietnam Veterans Honored At Beaver County Courthouse

It’s been 50 years since the beginning of the Vietnam War, and the living veterans in the Beaver County area were honored at a ceremony that took place at the Beaver County Courthouse on Tuesday, March 27.

The ceremony was attended by many different Pennsylvania politicians, including County Commissioners Dan Camp and Tony Amadio, Sheriff Tony Guy, District Attorney David Lozier, Congressman Keith Rothfus, and Senator Pat Toomey, who spoke at length about the honor of recognizing the veterans and the fact that America needs more work on treating them properly.

After the ceremony, Senator Toomey spoke with Beaver County Radio’s Matt Drzik about the importance of the event:

Drzik also spoke with Congressman Rothfus, who echoed Toomey’s earlier comments during the ceremony about taking better care of our veterans:

The official celebration of Vietnam Veteran’s Day is on March 29.

LISTEN: Destruction Begins At Site For New Speedway Station In New Brighton

Out with the old, in with the new. That’s the action being set in motion on the block in New Brighton where the new Speedway gas station and convenience store will be operating starting in the summer, says New Brighton Borough Manager Tom Albanese:

In his interview with Beaver County Radio, Albanese said he is very pleased to see the new business coming into that section of town:

As far as New Brighton residents and travelers are concerned, the construction should only cause slight traffic issues between now and grand opening:

The new Speedway station will be located in the area of New Brighton where the former Brighton Beverage (later Fischer’s Beverage) stood.
