Dale and Ethan Reckless on Teleforum April 25, 2018

Dale Reckless from MRS Physical therapy and his son Ethan were on Teleforum with Frank Sparks Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Dale made his monthly appearance and Ethan was with his Dad to preview “Take Your Kid To Work Day”  that is tomorrow. Dale talked about the proper way to go about gardening and other outdoor activities so that you don’t hurt yourself. Dale also spoke about MRS Physical Therapy and the process they go thru if you do need physical therapy from initial intake to making a plan and then proceeding to get you feeling better. At the end of the show Frank talked with Dale’s son Ethan about his favorite sport, baseball, and what he wants to be on the air with Frank.  Ethan told the listeners that he plays for the Pirates in Seneca Valley and he had six hits in his last game that ended up tied at 16.

AUDIO: New Brady’s Run Development, County Auction Among Subjects At Commissioners’ Work Section

In contrast to prior weeks, the weekly work session for the Beaver County Commissioners at the Beaver County Courthouse was quite lengthy, clocking in around 30-35 minutes.

The first half of the meeting was devoted to the announcement of a new development plan in Brady’s Run, and Tim Ishman, the Beaver County Director of Parks & Recreation, spoke about the purpose of the new development:

 

Furthermore, the new plan would also give renovation to the recycling center at Brady’s Run, a necessity spoken about by Holly Vogt, the director of the Beaver County Department of Waste Management:

 

The commissioners agreed to further pursuit of this new development project.

During the second half of the meeting, a number of subjects were further discussed, including the pending countywide auction on unused property, of which Assistant Solicitor Nate Morgan had an update:

 

The commissioners then went into executive session following the public work session.

2018 Beaver County Rotary Radio Auction, Saturday April 21, 2018

Fun was had by all who participated in the 2018 Beaver County Rotary Radio Auction on Saturday April 21, 2018. The auction was once again a major success. Dr. Paul Caton, Gary Miller, and Frank Sparks anchored the radio broadcast as callers called in to get great deals on gifts, gift cards and a variety of different items that were auctioned off. “Embrace Your Voice” on Teleforum April 10, 2018

Ann Colella-Murray, Education Training Coordinator at the Beaver County Women’s Center was a guest of Frank Sparks on Teleforum at 10 AM April 10, 2018. Ann discussed what the Women’s Center does and the services that they provide. Frank and Ann discussed domestic violence and sexual assault and the staggering problem that seems to be growing more each year. Ann told the listeners that people think of the Women’s Center as just a shelter but they do so much more providing shelter, services, and education about domestic violence and sexual assault. They also talked about the 24 Hour help line that is provided by the Women’s Center by dialing 724-775-0131 that can help if you feel the need. Ann Explained though that if you are or feel that you’re  in danger  you need to dial 911  .

The main reason for Ann’s visit was that the month on April is Sexual Assault Awareness month and the Women’s Center is having a display at different locations throughout the county  of pictures that were drawn and painted by someone who has been affected by a sexual assault.  You can see the boards and quilts that have been put together to by sexual assault survivors at the Beaver Falls Library, the Beaver County Courthouse, the Beaver Library and Penn State, Beaver Campus thru out the month of April. Mule Factory Performed on the Beaver County Radio Sound Stage Thursday March 29, 2018

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) The Mule Factory performed Live on The Beaver County Radio Sound stage on Thursday March 29, 2018 during a special edition of “Notes on Local Entertainment” with Frank Sparks and Scott Tady.

Mule Factory is a Bluegrass Band from Beaver County that has been playing their tunes for over ten years to the good people of our area. The Band was represented by Hap Wichryk, George Boe and Jennifer Ann who travels and performs with the national touring David Matfield Parade representing Compass Records an Indy label located in Nashville. The group played a number of great cover songs spun their way as they entertained the listeners and the Facebook Live crowd.
