St. Barnabas’ “The Best of Beaver County” with Jim Roddey was truly about two of the best of the county!!!

(Beaver Falls, Pa) Beaver County Radio’s new  hit show “The Best of Beaver County” with Jim Roddey  was on 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA  Thursday January 17, 2019 from 11 to 11:30 a.m.. This new weekly show is being presented by St. Barnabas every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA  and also on Facebook Live at wbvp-wmba.

Episode 2 started with show host Jim Roddey,  former Allegheny County Chief Executive and St. Barnabas Health Network Spokesman talking with Beaver County Partnership  Chairman Skip Homan. Skip talked with Jim about living in our area and why he is so proud of Beaver County and works hard daily to see businesses succeed in today’s tough environment. Homan talked about how excited he is to see St. Barnabas become a big part of Beaver County and Specifically the Brighton Twp area where St. Barnabas operates St. Barnabas Beaver Meadows and recently purchased the former Michael Baker property and the Tusca Plaza property.

After a short break Jim Roddey welcomed in Beaver County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Jack Manning. Manning and Roddey discussed what is new and happening with the chamber and why Manning has such a commitment to Beaver County at this exciting time of transition with the Shell Cracker Plant being built in Potter Twp. Manning also told the listeners about some of the upcoming events that the Chamber will be hosting this spring.

The radio broadcast will be replayed each week from 11:30 am to Noon on Sundays on Beaver County Radio. Tune in next week at 11:00 a.m. as Jim will be welcoming in two more of  the “Best in Beaver County”  guests presented by St. Barnabas.

Bright Lights and and the new session were talked about on “Rappin with the Reps”

(Beaver Falls, PA.) With the new year came a new edition of “Rappin with the Reps” on Teleforum with Frank Sparks. Joining Frank in studio were Jim Marshall (R) 14th District, Aaron Bernstine (R) 10th District, and a new edition to the show the newly elected Josh Kail (R) 15th District. The show ran from 9 – 10 a.m. on Thursday January 10, 2018 and was also streamed live on Facebook.

This months show sponsored by the Medicine Stop in Beaver Falls started off with Frank welcoming Josh to the program and asking him how things have been going since being elected last November to fill the seat that was vacated by Jim Christiana. Kail replied busy and h is now ready to get to work. The guys shared with the listeners what they most remember about being sworn in earlier this month.

 

The Reps then answered questions from the listeners via telephone and the Facebook Live. One caller was concerned with car Headlights and how bright they are. He asked about the law and Jim Marshall said he would check into it and get back to the listener. Other questions that arose involved the situation at Ellwood City Hospital with the employee pay checks bouncing,  the budget, the P.I.A.A. and the what’s the $5.00 registration fee tax for.

(Beaver Falls, PA.) The debut edition of “The Best of Beaver County” with Jim Roddey  was on Beaver County Radio Thursday January 10, 2019 at 11 a.m.. The premiere episode started with show host Jim Roddey,  former Allegheny County Chief Executive and St. Barnabas Health Network Spokesman talking with prominent Beaver County Businessman Chuck Betters. Roddey and Betters talked about Betters life growing in Beaver County and how he learned  many lessons growing up that helped to be the man and businessman that he is today.  The gentlemen also talk about the excitement that is surrounding the Shell Cracker Plant in Potter Twp. that is currently under construction and what the impact of the plant will be .

After a short break Jim’s second guest was newly elected 17th District Democratic United States Congressman Conor Lamb. Jim and Conor discussed Conor’s political career so far and his experience in Congress. Conor also discussed the government shutdown and how he was hoping for younger representation at the higher levels of Congress.  Conor and Jim talked about the bright future ahead for Beaver County and the area.

Huntington Business Spotlight for December 2018, MAC’s Donuts on Teleforum with Frank Sparks

(Beaver Falls Pa.) The Huntington Business Spotlight for the month of December 2018 is MAC’s Donut’s in Aliquippa. Twila Mc Kittrick owner  of MAC’s, Valerie Pedigo, Senior Vice President and Retail District Manager for Huntington Bank, and Tiffany Brewer, Manager of the New Sheffield Branch of Huntington Bank in Aliquippa joined Frank Sparks on Teleforum from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday December 20, 2018.

Valerie started out the show talking about Huntington Bank and why they are part of the Huntington Business Spotlight. Valerie explained that like small business Huntington is rooted in our communities and is committed to serving the community and it’s businesses on whatever their needs are.

Tiffany Brewer then told the listeners about her branch and why she enjoys working with in the community and specifically why she loves working for Huntington Bank. Tiffany told the listeners the different services that are offered at her office and talked about the diversity of her team and how they work so well together to service their customers.

After talking with Valerie and Tiffany it was time to talk to the star of the show Twila Mc Kittrick, owner of MAC’s Donuts. Twila told the listeners about the history of MAC’s that was started by her Father-in-law who they called be MAC. Hence the name MAC’s Donuts. Twila has worked in the business for many years and now runs the donut shop with her son who moved home a couple of years ago to help his mom with the business. Twila’s two daughters also grew up in the business helping out wherever needed. by sixteen her daughters worked the counter and sold MAC’s delicious products. Twila said that  social interaction with the customers  is what helped her children with their future careers.

After the news It was time to talk about all of the goodies at MAC’s Donuts. Twila told us that not only do they make donuts fresh everyday but they have other products especially at this time of the year for the holiday season. They make cookies for order and also Strudel that makes a great gift if you are going to someone’s house to visit.

Twila finished the interview telling a couple of stories about her customers over the years and how much she has enjoyed and continues to enjoy MAC’s Donuts.

2018 2nd Annual Notes on Local Entertainment Christmas Show was Spectacular!!!

(Beaver Falls Pa.) The 2018 2nd Annual Notes on Local Entertainment Christmas show was a spectacular event that was broadcast Live on WBVP and WMBA on Thursday December 20, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The entire show was also streamed live on Facebook.

The show started with Frank Sparks and Scott Tady, Entertainment Editor for the Beaver County Times, introducing the listeners to this years line-up and to the sponsors of this years show.

Frank then introduced Dena Miller, front woman and lead singer of the Sidewinder Band who then introduced the listeners to the rest of the Band. The Sidewinder Band  assisted by Beaver County Radio News Director Pat Septak on the accordion kicked off the music with their rendition of Jingle Bells. Pat Septak also played songs solo and Diane Brosius host of Yankee Trader sung a few holiday classics. The two hour show was wrapped up with everyone singing We Wish You a Merry Christmas and thanking everyone for listening to the show.  Frank and Scott would like to throw a special shout out to Matt Drzik for producing the Broadcast , Mark Peterson for the excellent sound  and Diane Powers for her help and support during the show.
