Santa Claus visits Candy-land at the 2019 Rochester Carol Sing and Light-up Night

(Rochester, Pa.) Santa Claus was the main attraction at the 2019 Rochester Carol Sing and Light-up Night on Sunday December 8, 2019. The third annual event got underway at 2:30 pm with the opening ceremonies being broadcast live on Beaver County Radio. the JR ROTC presented the colors as our National Anthem was then played. One of the event coordinators Ray Rotuna spoke with Beaver County Radio’s Frank Sparks during the broadcast and told the listeners the schedule of events for the  day that would all be topped off with with the ceremonial lighting of the lights to signify the 2019 Holiday Season. Some of the other events of the day was the reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”  with sound effects from students of the Rochester School District, Carol Singer with the Beaver Valley Choral Society and singing by the kindergartners of the Rochester School District.

Beaver County Radio’s Frank Sparks and Matt Drzik did a broadcast from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.  Frank and Matt also took a tour of Candy-land before Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived and sat on a special throne that was hand made for him to sit on while the children sat on his lap to tell Santa what they want for Christmas. Beaver County Treasurer Connie Javens was the “Best of Beaver County” today with Jim Roddey

Mr. Roddey and Javens talked about her career in politics from being elected to the Monaca School Board to being elected the Beaver County Treasurer in 1992. Connie told the listeners about some of the award winning things that she brought to the treasurers office to keep up with technology and make the office more efficient. She also talked about coming up with the idea to charge for verification of taxes and that way before a property closing they had a verified copy that the taxes are paid to date on the property. Javens said that since her office started doing this they have taken in over $200,00.00 for the county. Javens finished the interview by thanking everyone over the years for allowing her to be your treasurer and also for helping to raise money for the Beaver County Humane Society via dog licensing and donations that totaled over $230,000.00.

Jim Roddey finished the show by thanking Javens for her many years of service and told her the county will miss her.

Santa Claus was the star of the Beaver Falls Holiday Lighted Parade

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) Jolly Old Saint Nick made his first appearance in Beaver Falls this year on Saturday November 30, 2019. In honor of Santa Claus’ arrival the 2019 Beaver Falls Lighted Holiday Parade participants showed off there holiday spirit by sporting their favorite costumes and shining up and decorating their vehicles. Many of the participants walked beside vehicles and bands and passed out candy to the young parade attendees. Beaver County Radio’s Frank Sparks and Matt Drzik were on hand to celebrate the jolly guys arrival with a live broadcast on front of the WBVP/WMBA. and 99.3 FM Studios on 7th Avenue. The Beaver County Radio Prize van was on hand along with the Beaver County Radio Personality Prize Wheel.  Check out some of the photos of the parade below….

 

The Holidays were in the air at Beaver Light Up Night 2019!!

(Beaver, Pa.) It was the perfect evening to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season in downtown Beaver. The 2019 version of Beaver’s Annual Light Up Night did not disappoint.  Numerous people came out to see the parade that started at 6 pm and the live entertainment on the main stage. There were two stars of the night in Jolly Old St. Nick and Fireworks that capped of the evening. Matt Drzik and Frank Sparks were live on the air on Beaver County Radio from the parade. They brought the Beaver County Radio Personalty Prize Wheel and the world famous Beaver County Radio Prize Van.

SRN National talk show host Hugh Hewitt to join Frank Sparks on Teleforum at 11:50 a.m. today!

Hundreds paid tribute to our Veteran’s at the Beaver County Veteran’s Day Parade in Beaver Falls

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) On a beautiful late fall day in downtown Beaver Falls people lined  7th Avenue to pay tribute to the counties veteran’s. The Beaver County Veteran’s Day Parade rotates to a different community each year to host and this year was Beaver Fall’s turn. The last time the parade was held in Beaver Falls was 2012 according to Dwayne Johnson who is from the Beaver Falls Legion. Johnson also told the listeners of Beaver County Radio that Beaver County is number eight on the list of communities that celebrate Veteran’s Day.

Beaver County Radio presented a special live presentation of the 2019 Beaver County Veteran’s Day  Parade on Monday November 11, 2019 from 10:10 a.m. til 11:30 a.m.. Frank Sparks, host of Teleforum and Jim Roddey, a Marine Veteran, Host of “The Best Of Beaver County”, and St. Barnabas spokesman anchored the broadcast.  The star of the show was the Veteran’s but parade attendees were in awe over the large United States Flag that was hanging from New Brighton and Beaver Fall’s ladder truck that hung over 7th Ave.

13 local high school bands performed patriotric favorites as they march by the viewing stand with local dignataries including Beaver County Commissioners Dan Camp and Tony Amadio, Pa State Representatives Josh Kail and Jim Marshall, Sentor Elder Vogel and many more.
