Aliquippa beat Beaver Falls.
Beaver beat Aliquippa.
Central Valley beat Beaver.
And last week, Beaver Falls beat Central Valley.

The first year in the Beaver Valley Conference has brought a gridlock between its titans, and this made the Week 8 matchup between the Quips and the Warriors that crucial.

And in the case of Aliquippa, their comeback that much more elating.

The Quips come back from 14 down to score the final 22 points in a 22-14 victory over Central Valley at Sarge Alberts Stadium on WMBA Friday night. The win improved Aliquippa’s record to 5-1 in the conference and 7-2 overall. Meanwhile the Warriors drop to 5-2 in the BVC and 6-3 overall.

Robbie Kunselman (CV) and Tariq Jones (AQ) were selected as the CCBC Players of The Game.

Montour 38, Blackhawk 14

Week 8 means playoff spots are on the line. But for the Blackhawk Cougars, it has to wait until Week 9.

The Montour Spartans capped a successful Senior Night with a 38-14 victory over Blackhawk. The loss drops Blackhawk to 4-3 in the Northwest Nine; 5-3 overall. The Cougars must win at home against New Castle in Week 9 in order to make the playoffs; a loss will result in elimination. Montour’s victory improves their record to 4-3 in the conference, and 4-4 overall.

The Spartans’ Kavon Morman and the Cougars’ Tyler Hill were named the CCBC Players of The Game.
