Western Beaver Defeats New Brighton 21-13

What a game this afternoon as Western Beaver comes back in the second half to take the win over New Brighton. A rough start for the Golden Beavers in the first quarter as Nyasanu Greene brings in the points for New Brighton. They were only able to make one extra point of two touchdowns, ending the half 13-0 over Western Beaver. The Golden Beavers fought back in the third quarter, with a touchdown by Elias Bishop. New Brighton really started to sweat in the fourth, unable to bring anything to the end zone. Xander LeFebvre of Western Beaver took advantage of the momentum, scoring the last two touchdowns of the game. The Golden Beavers triumphed over the Lions, ending the game 21-3.

“Thru the Eyes of Sly Washington” U.S.C. vs Moon Friday October 12, 2019

(Moon Twp., PA.) The Moon Tigers’ defense came up big on Friday night defeating the Upper St Clair Panthers 20-6. Moon scored the game’s first touchdown late into the first quarter with a five yard run from Jamal Littlejohn. Eighteen seconds later, Upper St Clair’s quarterback, Ethan Bahlem, broke off a 78 yard touchdown run. That would be the Panthers only score, for the Tigers tenacious defense would not allow anymore points. The Tigers defense rattled the Panther’s offense with a few forced turnovers, including a 60 yard interception that would later set up an 18 yard touchdown from Jamal Littlejohn, making that his second touchdown of the night. The Moon victory takes their record to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in section play. With the win Moon pulls into a three way tie with Peters Twp., who the Tigers defeated last week, and Bethel Park, who defeated the Tigers. While we don’t know the outcome oft he conference at this point we now know the Tiger have secured a WPIAL playoff spot with last nights victory. The Panthers fall to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in section play on the season.

Neshannock Routs Freedom 49-21

Freedom fumbled the ball on the first drive of the game and that set the stage for what was in store for the evening. Neshannock capitalized on the turnover with a 1 yard QB sneak by Jason Nativio, bringing the score to 7-0. Freedom tied it up at 7 with their own 1 yard run by Tyrique Campbell. Neshannock retook the lead with an 8 yard run by Braden Gennock, butFreedom tied it up again with an 8 yard TD catch by Brandon Pratt. Neshannock received the ball with a few seconds left in the half, but instead of kneeling the ball, a 60 yard completion set up a 2 yard TD run from Braden Gennock. At the half, the score was 21-14.

Freedom managed to capture their first 2 score lead of the night after a 41 yard TD catch by Ethan Weatherby. 1 play and a 79 yard TD catch from Reiker Welling later, Freedom was back within a score 28-21. The 4th quarter was the Jason Nativio show, with 3 TD runs of 33, 4, and 3 yards, bringing the final score to 49-21.
