James R. Reid (1995-2024)

James R. Reid, 29, of McGuire Memorial, Daugherty Twp, passed away on April 13, 2024.

Born on April 3, 1995, in Philadelphia, he is the son of James L. Reid and Minyette Turner.

Friends will be received Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in McGuire Memorial, 2119 Mercer Road, New Brighton, from 9 a.m. until 10:45.   A Homegoing service will follow at 11 a.m. in McGuire Memorial.

James will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memorial Park of Philadelphia.

Leslie W. Fetch (1947-2024)

Leslie W. Fetch, 77, of Hopewell Township, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 17, 1947 in Sewickley, to the late William and Irene (Sholock) Fetch, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barbara (Childs) Fetch, two sons, Don (Allison) Fetch of Purcellville, Virginia, Jonathan Fetch and Sarah Shannon of Grove City, and two grandchildren, Cameron Fetch and Luna Fetch. He was a computer analyst for HJ Heinz Company. Leslie was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church of Glenwillard, Pennsylvania, part of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. He was also a member of the Fairs Oaks Volunteer Fire Department and served Meals on Wheels for many years in the Aliquippa area, was a model train enthusiast and enjoyed boating. He proudly served his country as a radioman in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 10 A.M. until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. James Church, 201 Broad Street, Sewickley. Luncheon will immediately follow Mass at 11:30 A.M. in the gathering space adjacent to the church. Interment with full military honors will follow at 2:30 P.M. at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville.

Diana M. Lindemann (1957-2024)

Diana M. Lindemann, 66, of Rochester Township, passed away on April 12th, 2024, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital of Pittsburgh. She was born on September 27th, 1957 in Aliquippa and was the daughter of the late Richard Albert “Al” and Eve Marie Yanko. In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Diana is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Michael J. Lindemann, four brothers, and three sisters-in-law, Mark and Amy Yanko, of Aliquippa, Chris and Kathy Yanko, of Hopewell, Steve and Mae Yanko, of Clinton, Pennsylvania and Philip Paul Yanko, of Verland, Pennsylvania, as well as one niece and two nephews.
Diana was a former aide to various elderly families throughout Beaver County, then later served as a housewife and homemaker. She was a graduate of Aliquippa High School and received an associate’s degree in Applied Science from the Community College of Allegheny County. Diana was a great lover of cats and enjoyed reading, singing, and watching old comedies with her husband in her pastime. She was a member of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church of Rochester, where she was a Christian mother. In her youth Diana was a choir member for St. Titus Roman Catholic Church of Aliquippa.
Friends will be received Tuesday April 16th from 3-7 p.m. at William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams Street, Rochester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning, Wednesday April 17th at 10 a.m., at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church of Rochester. Interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park of Rochester. Arrangements were entrusted to William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc.

Myrna L. (Diamond) Douglass (1936-2024)

Myrna L. (Diamond) Douglass, 88, of Beaver passed away peacefully with her family and constant companion, Bella Marie by her side on April 11, 2024.

Born on April 6, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Ralph, Sr., and Mabel Edgar Diamond. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved niece, Kristy Diamond.

She is survived by her son, Mike Douglass of Beaver; daughters, Cathy (Mark) Ketchel of Gibsonia, and Lori (Dann) Glott of Beaver; brother, Ralph (Kathy) Diamond of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Amber (Jake Goughan) Industry, and Zachary Ketchel, Covington, Kentucky; and aunt, Karrie Diamond Rodgers of Texas.

Myrna retired following a long career as a nursing technician with Heritage Valley Hospital of Beaver. She was a faithful member of Trinity Church of Beaver, where she served as a member of The Order of the Daughters of the King. Myrna will be mostly remembered as a loving mother to her children. Her family and faith were everything to her.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to Pinnacle Hospice for the loving care they provided for Myrna.

Kathleen L. Matoic Rotuna (1942-2024)

Kathleen L. Matoic Rotuna, 82, of Brighton Township, formerly of New Brighton, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on April 11, 2024.

Born on March 5, 1942 in New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Louise Matoic. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas Matoic. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John J. Rotuna; son, James D. (Mary Kay) Rotuna of Baden; daughters, Terri L. (David) Cepicka of Fox Chapel, and Kathleen M. Rotuna of Vanport; and granddaughters, Jacqueline L. and Rachael S. Cepicka.

Kathleen was a long time Brighton Township resident and member of Saints Peter and Paul Church of Beaver, part of Our Lady of the Valley Parish. She formerly ran the Saints Peter and Paul School cafeteria for 20 years, having later retired from First National Bank of Koppel.

Friends will be received Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 10 A.M., Saints Peter and Paul Church, 200 3rd Street, Beaver.

Heath Dominic Vezza (1973-2024)

Heath D. Vezza, 50, of Harmony Township, passed away at home on April 8, 2024. He was born on September 23, 1973 and was the son of Dominic and Patricia Vezza. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Kimberley Heitzenrater-Vezza, children, Sage Vezza, Tessa Vezza (Montrail Strozier), Kainen Vezza, siblings, Angel (Chris) Hayes, Rochele (Mike) Etzi, Tessie (Isaac) Irby, Kara (Ben) Vezza-Herring, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bonnie and Richard Heitzenrater, very special aunt, Amy Bortman, along with numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Kelly Heitzenrater. Heath was a graduate of Ambridge Area Highschool Class of 1992. He attended the University of Pittsburgh receiving and associates degree. He was employed for twenty years with Norfolk Southern Railroad where he became the Vice Chairman of the American Rail Federation. Heath was a loving and caring father and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Frank Leslie McPherson (1943-2024)

Frank Leslie McPherson, 80, of Enon Valley, passed away on April 10, 2024, at Heritage Valley Health System of Beaver.

Born September 20, 1943, in Rochester, he was the son of the late Berton and Lula (Hougue) McPherson. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, Burton “Mitch” McPherson and Dennis McPherson and his sisters, Sandy Mayle and Carol Jodikinos.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda McPherson, his children, Gerald McPherson, Linda Hall, William McPherson, Kelly Klaus McPherson and Frank L. McPherson, Jr., numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his sister, Lola Kugel.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 12th from 2pm-8pm in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SVCS, INC.- 117 Blackhawk Rd., Beaver Falls, PA 15010.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, April 13 at 10 am with Pastor Dan Muir as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Little Beaver Cemetery of Enon Valley, where full Military Honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America.

Donald J. Dowlin III (1962-2024)

Donald J. “Butch” Dowlin III, 61, of Ohioville, passed away on April 7, 2024 at home, surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy battle with his health.

He was born on May 25, 1962, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, a son of the late Donald J. Dowlin Jr. and the late Joyce White Antonis, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of nearly 35 years, Delon (Fisher) Dowlin; a daughter, Corrine (Samuel) Dowlin-Guido; Two sisters, Darlene (Tim) Beck and Debbie Meechum; a mother and father-in-law, Patricia and Nick Porto; an aunt and uncle, Leon and Delores Dowlin, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his closest friend, Dean (Tammie) Chevalier.

A 1981 graduate of Western Beaver High School, he was a foreman at Watco Industries in Industry, Pennsylvania for many years. He rose through the ranks at Watco, starting as a laborer and heavy equipment operator. He was a lifetime member of the Midland Sportsman’s Club and an avid outdoorsman. He had a sharp wit and an even sharper shot. He spoke fluent sarcasm and could make a friend wherever he went. Butch was a loving husband, a great father, an amazing cook and a loyal friend.

Vicky L. Casey (1944-2024)

Vicky L. Casey, 78, of Chippewa Twp., passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 in UPMC-Shadyside.

Born August 11, 1945, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late David and Maude (Altmeyer) Saras.  Vicky was a devoted member of the former St. Philomena Catholic Church. She shared her kindness and compassion with her fellow parishioners where she served on many church committees, taught CCD, and was a Eucharistic Minister.  Her commitment to the church’s mission and her tireless efforts in serving others was rewarded to Vicky when she received the Father Marcus O’Brien Award from the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Vicky also enjoyed hosting gatherings for her family and friends. Her home was always filled with laughter, delicious food, and love. Whether it was a holiday celebration or a simple get-together, she delighted in creating memorable moments for her loved ones.  She also enjoyed baking and crafting.

She will be remembered for her generosity, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Casey; her brothers, David and Tom Saras; and a sister, Florence Eggensberger.

Vicky is survived by her two daughters, Amy Gilbert and her husband Roger, and Jill Casey and her husband Rich Alexander; her four grandchildren, Kelsey Greco, Michael “Mikey” Greco, Sara (Chris) Flether and Miranda (Paul) Salzler; her three great-grandchildren, Beatrice Fletcher and Aiden and Gabe Salzler; her sister, Thelma Aiken; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received on Saturday, April 13th from 10AM until the time of blessing service at 1PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp.

Private interment will take place in Grandview Cemetery.

Daniel E. Reznik (1944-2024)

Daniel E. Reznik (Michalski), 79, of Beaver, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on April 7, 2024.

Born August 23, 1944 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Helen Reznik and Alex Michalski, who preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Edith Reznik of Beaver; son, Eric Reznik of Silver Spring, Maryland, daughter, Shelly (Michael) Haczela of Beaver; and grandchildren, Tyler and Kylie Haczela, of Beaver.

Daniel graduated from Beaver High School in 1962, going on to serve proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He had a long career as a machinist with Westinghouse, Cutler Hammer, currently Eaton Corporation of Vanport Township. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans, the NRA and the Midland Sportsman’s Club. In his spare time, Daniel could be found hunting or fishing, cheering on the Steelers, and playing his oldies while gardening or grilling. His biggest enjoyment was watching his grandchildren’s games and activities, and he was also a proud Pappy.
