David R. Milne Jr., 87, passed away on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at his Center Township residence. He was born in Monaca, the son of the late David R. Sr. and Zella Frances (Dunlap) Milne.

David was raised in Monaca and graduated in 1955 and soon after answered the call of duty by serving his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Upon returning to civilian life, David embarked on a career with J & L’s Aliquippa Works, dedicating 37 years before retiring. Never one to remain idle, he continued to share his talents and passion at Pathway Church in Chippewa, where he was employed for another 20 years until his retirement in 2021.

David’s commitment to his faith was unwavering. A former member of Monacrest Free Methodist Church in Monaca, he served as a Sunday School teacher and Church Treasurer. Later, as a member of Pathway Church, he continued to serve as an Elder and Church Treasurer. He was an avid reader of the Bible, enjoyed listening to music that uplifted the spirit, and loved spending time in prayer praying for the lost and his brothers and sisters in Christ.

On July 13, 1963, David married the love of his life, Verna Faye Rambo Milne at the New Brighton Free Methodist Church, and together they shared 61 beautiful years. Their union was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect. Although David and his wife were not blessed with children of their own, they found joy and purpose in the lives of their numerous nieces and nephews, treating them with the affection and care as if they were their own. Likewise, David’s numerous friends and his church family held a special place in his heart.

He enjoyed traveling to U.S. Navy VR-22 reunions, where he reconnected with fellow servicemen and shared stories of days gone by. His love for travel also took him to California and many other U S destinations but he was especially fond of Toronto, Canada, and Camelford, Ontario, where he and his wife created lasting memories. Closer to home, David’s appreciation for the past was reflected in his love for antique cars, a hobby that brought him much joy and satisfaction.

In his later years, David found strength and comfort in the love, encouragement, and support of the Pathway Church and the ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship) group. Their companionship and care during the last three years of his life were a source of immense comfort and gratitude for David and his family.

Friends will be received on Sunday, November 17th from 1-3 pm and 5-7 p.m. at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, Additional viewing will be held on Monday, November 18th from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 am at Pathway Church, 239 Braun Road, Beaver Falls. Interment will follow with military honors at Mt Zion Cemetery of Fairmont, West Virginia.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Three Oaks Hospice for their loving kindness and care for him.

Darrell Everitt Schier, 79, of Brighton Township passed away on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 at the VA Medical Center of Butler.He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. and Mary Elizabeth (Fronko) Schier, and his brother Thomas. He is survived by his two daughters, Amy (Joel) Lindsey and their son Levi and Kristen Schier and her son Robbie. He is also survived by his beloved niece, Beth (David) Kingston, and his great-niece and nephew, Harmony and Garrison.

After bravely serving his country as a U S Army Vietnam veteran, Darrell returned home to put down roots in the place of his birth. He started his own business, Schier’s Straightening. His entrepreneurial spirit didn’t stop there; Darrell also dedicated many years of service to Beaver County in various capacities and later retired from Home Depot in Chippewa as a driver.

He was known for his love of old cars and his ‘sweet tooth’ was legendary, especially around the holidays when he would delight family and friends with his homemade chocolates and sweets.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. He will be buried at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies of Bridgeville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services of Monaca.

The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to the Beaver County Humane Society.

Elaine (Middleton) Keriotis, 90, passed away on November 10th, 2024. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 8th, 1934, and was preceded in death by her hsuband James Keriotis. She is survived by three children, Lewis Keriotis, Suzan Escott (Glenn), and James Keriotis, two grandchildren, Elias Kellum (Christen) and Ariel Kellum (Julian) and two great grandchildren, Elia Kellum and Kahana Kellum. Elaine spent her youth in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Aliquippa at the age of eighteen. She was a medical secretary who was also very much involved in the Greek Community including being a member of Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. For many years, she and her husband owned and operated Town and Country Cleaners in Aliquippa.

Friends will be received on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa, as well as on Friday, November 15th from 11 a.m. until the time of  the funeral Service at noon in Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church 2111 Davidson Street, Aliquippa.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery of Aliquippa.

Antoinette (Santilli) Huwar, 94, lovingly known as “Toni,” passed away on November 12th, 2024, with her family by her side.
She was born in Pratica di Mare, Italy on September 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rosina (Colaialova) Santilli. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Huwar and several of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her cherished family, two daughters and two sons-in-law: Judy and Gary McCutcheon, whom she resided with for the last two years, and Anita and Bill Grimm, four grandsons: Nick and Kerri McCutcheon, Kevin McCutcheon, Bill and Lauren Grimm, Nate and Stacy Grimm. She was also blessed with three great grandchildren: Nate Jr., Ryland and Reagan.
Antoinette was a faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Church of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Crescent Township.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Friday, November 15th, at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Township.

Kathryne Laura D’Antonio, 70, of Center Township, passed away on November 10, 2024 at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late Charles and Janet (McCowin) McGaffick. She is survived by her loving husband Robert, son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Jennifer D’Antonio, daughter and son–in-law, Valarie and Kenny Mason, grandchildren, Salvatore D’Antonio and Kenny and Grady Mason, and sisters Wendy Shultz (John), Lynn Mummey (Glenn), and Carol Zimny (Ron Moore). For the last 21 years she has enjoyed her titles as Aunt Kathie, Kathie Gram and Mema. 

Kathryne was a fitness instructor who was an inspiration for many women both physically and mentally. She enjoyed playing sports and outdoor activities. Most importantly she was a devoted wife who supported her husband Robert D’Antonio for 48 years and mother who showed endless love for her son and daughter. She never missed an opportunity to cheer her children and grandchildren on to greatness. Kathie’s sparkling eyes, infectious smile and big heart led her to be loved by all and will be forever missed. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 14th at 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. A Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 15th at First United Methodist Church of Aliquippa, 2816 Brodhead Rd., Aliquippa, followed by a celebration of life. Committal is in Seceder United Presbyterian Cemetery, 681 Georgetown Road, Darlington, at 1:30 p.m.

Cora L. Eschenfelder, 69, of Beaver, passed away on November 7, 2024 surrounded by her loving family after a prolonged illness. 

She was born on December 19, 1954 in Morrison, Illinois, a daughter of the late Frank Lewellyn and Jareldean Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Mark Eschenfelder. 

She is survived by her loving daughters, Mary Eschenfelder and Emily Eschenfelder, brother, John Morgan and sisters, Annette Maurits and Linda Cocking. 

Cora was a learning support teacher for over 40 years in Illinois, Missouri and Western Pennsylvania. She retired from teaching after 33 years with the Beaver Area School District. 

Friends will be received Friday, November 15th, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home Inc, 333 Third Street, Beaver. Carol Agnes (Dreyer) Skidmore, 86, passed away on November 10, 2024. She was born on October 4th, 1938, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Kremmel) Dreyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Ed, and Jim Dreyer; sister, Lois Rotondo, daughter, Mary Shannon, grandson, Kenneth Crosby, beloved son-in-law, Jefery Wilkerson and beloved daughter-in-law, Kathy Weaver. 

She is survived by four children: Mike (Kim) Weaver, Diana Wilkerson, Denise (Charles) Johnson, and Donna (John) Rork; four stepchildren: Bill, Paul, Rita, and Pete Skidmore; two brothers, Charles (Mary Kay) Dreyer and John Dreyer, eleven grandchildren: Jim, Tim, Brittany, David, Crista, Cole, Susan, Katie Ann, Alan, Anthony, and Kendall; seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Carol cherished her family above all else. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. 

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 14th from 9-11 A.M. at Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge. Burial will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park of Rochester. 

Amber Loraine Terrick, 37, of Ambridge, passed away on November 7th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 22nd, 1987, and was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents. Amber leaves behind her fiancé, Bennie Tyson, her mother, Mary Terrick, her four children: Michelle Krol, Brionna Tyson, Sierra Tyson, and Mikah Tyson; her siblings, Brian “Dub” Terrick, Racheal Terrick, and Courtney Troup, her niece, Aniah Terrick, nephew, Caleb Terrick, and dear friends, Jose, Kara Rubee, and Josee Berrios. 

Amber was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family, especially her children, before her own. She was a strong, fierce woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16th, from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at New Hope Community Church, 592 Beaver Road, Ambridge.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, Ambridge. 

Barbara Jean (Beutter) D’Achille, 92, of Patterson Township, passed away on November 10th, 2024 in her residence. 

She was born on December 28th, 1931, in Mishawaka, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Cone) Beutter. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. D’Achille and her brother, Robert Beutter. 

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Curt) Shroads, three sons, Robert (Patty) D’Achille, Thomas D’Achille, and James D’Achille; daughter-in-law, Sherri D’Achille, six grandchildren: Tricia (Travis) Webster, Marissa (Rod Carrasco) D’Achille, Cayla D’Achille, Tyler (Maura) Shroads, Danny Shroads, and Olivia Shroads; and ten great grandchildren: Karana, Sierra, Isaiah, Ellie, Stella, Cash, Parker, Jackson, Riley, and Nolan; her sister-in-law, Mary Beutter, as well as several nieces and nephews, Kelly (Lisa) Cosky, Brent Beutter, Lori Alexander, Brad (Donna) Beutter , and Brian (Sabrina) Beutter . Through her marriage, Barbara was blessed with additional cherished family members, including Marguerite Raich, David (Lisa) Walton, Nancy Walton, and Joe (Brenda) Walton. 

Barbara attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from Geneva College. She taught school in the Big Beaver Falls School District, and she also assisted at Campbell’s Funeral Home. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, the Heritage Valley Women’s Auxiliary, the Outlook Club, as well as Meals on Wheels. Barbara was Lutheran by faith, but attended Riverview United Methodist Church in Patterson Township. 

Friends will be received on Friday, November 15th from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 12 noon in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls. 

Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. 

Susan E. Westerman, 83, of North Sewickley Township, passed away on November 10th, 2024 in Beaver Valley Rehab Center of Chippewa. 

She was born on July 1, 1941, a daughter of the late Edward and Mildred Nagy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Dean Westerman. She is survived by her daughter, Annette (Don) Lutz, her son, Larry Westerman, her brother, Butch (Kim) Nagy, her brothers and sisters in law, Gary and Kathy Westerman, Rita (Jim) Hinton, Jean Westerman, her four grandchildren, Morgan (David) Peffer, Madison (Conor) Thumm, Karlie (Jason) Coburn, and Michael Westerman, two great grandsons, Aiden and Ryker Coburn and a great granddaughter on the way.  

She was a 1959 graduate of Beaver Falls High School. After high school, she went to beauty school and became a self-employed beautician. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary who enjoyed playing cards, knitting and crocheting. She also loved to travel, enjoying many trips around the country and Europe and spending time with her family. 

In accordance with Susan’s wishes, she will be cremated and a private burial will take place at Concord Cemetery.
