Mary F. Kernic, 72, of Economy, passed away on October 16, 2024. She was born on January 23, 1952, the daughter of the late John and Ann Kazlauskas. She is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, John Kernic, her siblings, John Kazlauskas and Joann (Tom) Devins and numerous cousins and friends. A graduate of Mars High School, Mary worked as a medical assistant before dedicating herself to hospice care. She loved spending time in nature, arranging flowers, visiting waterfalls, and caring for cats. She also cherished her vacations in the Outer Banks with her husband and made many friends throughout her life who will miss her dearly. Friends are invited to gather on Sunday, October 20, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge. Departing prayers will take place at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, October 21, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at Good Samaritan/Saint Luke Church, 725 Glenwood Avenue, Ambridge.

Kenneth Robert Thomas, Sr., 80, of Beaver Falls, passed away on October 14, 2024, at Beaver Health and Rehabilitation of Aliquippa.

He was born on April 8th, 1944, a son of the late Dora Stratton and William Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Thomas, sister, Bonnie Thomas Kildoo, sons, William “Cam” and Bryan Michael Thomas and a nephew, James Kildoo. He is survived by his son, Kenneth R. Thomas, Jr., sister, Ann Arnold, nephews, Mark Thomas and family, Kenneth Thomas and family, Sam Kildoo and family, granddaughters, Taylor and Karlie and great granddaughter, Cameron.

Kenneth was a Vietnam Veteran and the captain of his platoon. He was an avid golfer and was so proud to be part of the Beaver Falls community. He worked diligently on Library Fundraisers, the Larry Bruno Foundation, and was employed by C.W. Smith for many years.

Kenneth will lie-in-state at the Riverview Methodist Church, 1099 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, on Saturday, October 19^th from 10-11 A.M. A celebration of life will be held at 11 A.M. with Pastor Luke Whipple officiating.

Interment will follow in Little Beaver Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to the branch of Gabauer Funeral Homes.

Ronald F. Rokicki Sr., 59, of Moon Township, passed away on October 13, 2024. He was born in Sewickley on April 30, 1965, the son of the late Walter & Marie (Martin) Rokicki. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy. Ron is survived by his wife of 39 years, Colleen Sue (McCormick) Rokicki, five children: Ronald Rokicki Jr. of Moon Township, Moriah Bialowas (Brian), of Robinson Township, Steven W. Rokicki (Rachael) of Neville Island, Patti Katora (Neil) of Downingtown, David Rokicki of Moon Township, four grandchildren: Julia, Erin, Jacob & Corrina.  Brothers, William (Patty), Walt (Bobbi), Bob (Maria); and brother-in-law, Magno.

Ron enjoyed time on his boat, quality pizza, and watching the Steelers on Sundays.  Most of all, he treasured time with those he loved, sparking contagious joy with his boisterous laughter that could likely be heard from across the street. He was passionate about music, and could find the perfect song for any moment, influencing his five childrens’ love of music and living on in the songs he shared.

Ron was a certified master technician known for his ability to fix anything. He spent many years running his own business, Rokicki’s Auto Service. In recent years, he was employed at FedEx as a technician specialist. Ron was a dedicated, lifetime firefighter for the Neville Island Volunteer Fire Department. Ron’s friendly nature made a lasting impression on everyone he met, always making time for a chat. Those who knew him knew a hardworking man with a big heart and a desire to be helpful. He was loved deeply by all who knew him, and fully embraced as a member of the McCormick family.

Friends will be received on Thursday October 17th from 2-4 P.M. & 6-8 P.M. in The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Township, 1522 Coraopolis Heights Road.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 19th at 1PM in St. Philip’s Church of Moon Township, 1629 Beaver Grade Road.

John A. “Moose” Uccellini, 95, of Midland, passed away on October 13, 2024 at Villa St. Joseph. 
He was born on September 7, 1929 in Midland, the son of the late Carlo and Emma (Rocca) Uccellini. He is survived by his son Dr. John (Hollie) Uccellini, his daughter Anita (Glenn) Buse, his daughter-in-law Tina Uccellini, five grandchildren, Dr. Beth (Jon) Carpenter, Anthony (Megan) Uccellini, John Michael Uccellini, Dr. Nicole (Andrew) Clevenger, Ashley (Matthew) Work, five great grandchildren, Joseph and Anna Carpenter, Lucy Clevenger, and Emma and Sadie Work, his brother Rocco (Dorothy) Uccellini, brother-in-law James Kossler, numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friends Lucy and Hezzie Presutti and Patricia Bernardi. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Marie (DeProspero) Uccellini, his son Michael Uccellini, his sisters Chris and (Ralph) Musi, Rose and (John) Cindrich and Anna Kossler, his brothers and sisters-in-law Mary and (George) Seifert, Louie and (Mary) DeProspero, Patty and (Danny) Santia. 
John retired from Crucible Steel and extended his career as Manager of Midland Water Authority until he retired in 1993. He served as a member of the Midland School Board, recording secretary of the USW local 1212 and local 122, and a lifelong member and former President of the St. Anthony Italian Club in Midland. He was a lifelong member of St. Blaise Church of Midland, part of Saint Augustine Parish where he was very active as an usher and active member of their fall festival committee. He will long be remembered for his sense of humor, storytelling ability and serving as a master of ceremony for many events. For example, he often would talk about his time in school where he would sit next to the smartest girl in class. In one class, Sister Bernise passed out a 10-point quiz, where he got 9 out 10 right and got an ‘F,’ and the girl next to him got 9 out of 10 right and got an ‘A’. He asked Sister Bernise why, and she told him the girl next to him wrote “I don’t know the answer” to the one she got wrong, and he wrote on his test “I don’t know it either!”

Mary Ann Glatzel, 80, of Fair Oaks, passed away on October 13, 2024. She was born on July 25, 1944, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Richard and Julia (Woods) Baldwin Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Baldwin and William Baldwin.  

Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, Fred Glatzel, daughter, Kimberly (Nathan) Janney, grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, and Sarah Janney, sisters-in-law, Judy Baldwin and Michelle Baldwin, and nieces and nephews. 

Mary Ann worked as a cleaner for the Quaker Valley School District.  In her spare time, she enjoyed playing computer games, especially Candy Crush, was a veteran of Black Friday shopping, and above all, loved going to the zoo and spending time with her grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 17, from 4-8 P.M., in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, October 18, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, 100 Resurrection Road, Coraopolis. 

John Jack Liebig McCormick, 76, of Beaver, passed away at home on October 12, 2024. 
He was born on July 17, 1948, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Mary Louise Liebig and Jon McCormick. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his adoptive father, George Liebig. 
He is survived by his wife, Dianne; his son John (Elizabeth) Liebig, of Raleigh, North Carolina, his daughter, Gretchen (Michael) Kelley, of Beaver, and his grandchildren, Quinn Kelley, of Bellevue, Pennsylvania, Zane Kelley, of Beaver, Jason Liebig, of Raleigh, North Carolina and Megan Liebig of Raleigh, North Carolina. John had worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist at Nova Chemical. 
According to John’s wishes, there were no services.

Walter Ilko, 94, of Harmony Township, passed away at home on October 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 26, 1929, in Ambridge, the son of the late Stephen and Pauline Svarich Ilko. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Helen Stranko, and brother Steve Ilko. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Florence, his sons, Myron Ilko, David (Amy) Ilko, and Paul (Nicole) Ilko, his two granddaughters, Jaina and Mara Ilko and numerous nieces and nephews. Walter was a 1947 graduate of Ambridge High School.  He served in the United States Army, 45th Infantry, 45th Signal Company, and is a veteran of the Korean War (’51-53) where he was an ARCOM recipient for valor. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, Clarion State Teacher’s College, and Geneva College. He worked for over 30 years at H.H. Robertson Company until his retirement. He was also a life-long, faithful member of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church in Ambridge. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, October 15th from 6-8 P.M. in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a prayer service will be held on Wednesday, October 16th at 11 A.M., followed by a Divine Liturgy at 11:30 A.M. in Saints Peter and Paul Ukranian Catholic Church in Ambridge.  Interment will follow in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery.

Mary Ann (Detorakis) Pinkosky, 61, of Conway, passed away on October 13, 2024 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Detorakis, as well as her husband of 30 years, Michael “Mikey/Pinky” Pinkosky. She is survived by her mother, Margaret (Deiter) Detorakis, her brother, Emanuel “Manny” (Denise) Detorakis, her children, Kristen and Zachary Pinkosky and numerous beloved family and friends. Mary Ann also leaves behind her two cherished golden retriever buddies, Moses and Elijah. They were her “babies.” Family and friends are invited for a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 17 at Good Samaritan Church, 725 Glenwood Avenue, Ambridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. Internment will take place at a later date. Randy W. Judd, 67, of Monaca, formerly of Industry, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 12, 2024. He was born on October 11, 1957, the son of the late Archie and Shirley Judd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Judd. He is survived by his sister, Vicki Fisher, his brothers, Leslie (Doris) Judd and Brad (Mary Ellen) Judd and several nieces and nephews: Todd, Michael, and Michelle Miller, Van-Michael Judd, Ashley Mortimer, and Meghan and Elena Judd. Randy was a graduate of Western Beaver High School, a former member of the Painters Union Local 530 in Beaver County, and he worked in construction in North Carolina. Brian K. Morris, 52, of Hopewell Township passed away on October 11, 2024, after a year long courageous battle with leukemia.
He was born on November 29, 1971, in Aliquippa, the son of Ronald and Marlene (McClester) Morris. In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his loving wife of nearly 9 years, Amy (Miller) Morris, who he affectionately called his rock; sister Brianne (Nick) Bergman; in-laws, Mary and Gary Miller; sister-in-law Becky (Robbie) Baron; and nieces and nephews Nicolas, Natalie, and Nathan Baron, and Elizabeth and Margaret Bergman. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and a newborn sister.
Brian was a lover of cars and every dog he ever met, a connoisseur of coffee, beer, and great food who loved music and playing the guitar. He enjoyed his most recent job as a mechanic at Grossi and Associates in Center Township, as well as his recent certification as a realtor at Berkshire Hathaway, a job he always dreamed of having. Brian had a variety of interests, a vast knowledge, and loved late night phone calls with family and friends that could last hours. He loved to travel locally, especially to Hocking Hills State Park, and the quaint town of Ashtabula, Ohio. Most of all, he loved Amy, who he had known since childhood, but reconnected with in 2012, sparking a journey of love between them. Brian will be dearly missed by those whom he loved and who loved him in return.
Funeral arrangements will be private, remembering Brian in the presence of close family and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc, 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa.
