John Paul Pinchot July 13, 1935 ~ February 2, 2024

John Paul Pinchot, 88, of Economy, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024. He was born on July 13, 1935 in Ambridge, to the late John and Anna (Bowan) Pinchot. John was a retired tax assessor for the Beaver County Assessment Office after a more than 40-year career. He was a graduate of Ambridge High School and long time member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Ambridge. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during peacetime. John enjoyed camping and fishing, watching local sports, (especially the Pittsburgh Pirates), and was an  avid poker player, playing with family and friends until the early morning hours. John loved playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a passionate dog lover, having raised numerous poodles over the years. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Dorothy Pinchot, his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Bob Damon, in-laws, Joseph and Margaret Ostrowski, and brother-in-law, Robert Ostrowski. He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Ostrowski) Pinchot, daughter and son-in-law, Darlene Pinchot and Gene Testa of Economy, son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jacqueline Pinchot of Center Twp., grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Ryan and Lily Hudacsek of Economy, granddaughter, Kelsey Hudacsek of Portersville, grandson, Evan Pinchot of Robinson Twp., granddaughter, Allyson Pinchot of Augusta, GA, great grandchildren, Brenna Mann and Leo and Iris Hudacsek, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Helen Ostrowski of Ocean Pines, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Monday from 3-7 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a Panachyda Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Divine Liturgy for the repose of his soul at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment with full military honors will follow at 11:15 AM in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. A Parastas service will held Monday evening at 6 PM in the funeral home. Dawn Elaine Lash January 15, 1947 ~ February 3, 2024

Dawn Elaine Lash, 77, of Center Township, PA, passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 3, 2024. She was born in New Castle, Indiana on January 15, 1947, to Jabez Wayne and Thelma May Beeson. Dawn attended Champion High School before studying photography at Ohio University. She worked in retail most of her life and retired from Macy’s.

In addition to her parents, Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, Orlando C. Lash. She is survived by her children, Anthony Lash, Adam (Tracy) Lash, and Suzanne (Frank) McKenzie, her grandchildren, Kat, Samantha, Angeline, and Stefan Lash, and her brother, Clayton Beeson.

Friends will be received on February 7, 2024, from 3-6 PM in the  Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge, 724-266-2549. A  funeral service will be held at 6 PM to conclude the visitation. Burial will be private.

Richard “Rich” R. Guerrieri March 2, 1963 ~ February 2, 2024

Richard Guerrieri, 60, of Fair Oaks, passed away on February 2, 2024. He was the son of the late Rudolph and Shirley Guerrieri. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Suzan Springer, Sharon Guerrieri, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Angelo Sr. and Dorothy Cancelliere.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Guerrieri, sons, Brandon and Kevin Guerrieri, brother, Rudolph E. Guerrieri, sister-in-law, Debbie (Joe) Rodriguez, brothers-in-laws, Joseph (Mary) Cancelliere, Angelo Jr. (Donna) Cancelliere, Robert Cancelliere, Robert Springer, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rich graduated from Ambridge Area High School and attended the Allegheny County Police Academy. He worked as a constable for the late Judge Russo and was a certified firearms instructor. Rich began his police career by working for Sewickley, Edgeworth, Leetsdale, Police Departments. He received a full-time position with Bell Acres Police Department retiring with the rank of sergeant.  He was a volunteer fireman for the Fair Oaks Fire Department where he served as past president. During his retirement he was hired as a dispatcher for the Edgeworth Police Department. Rich was very active in coaching both the middle school and high school Quaker Valley hockey teams.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 3 PM until time of funeral service at 7 PM in the Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services, 547 8th Street, Ambridge, 724-266-2549.

Robert F. “Ears” Philips May 28, 1931 ~ February 3, 2024

Robert F. Philips, 92, of Darlington, formerly of Fallston, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Born May 28, 1931, in Beaver, he is the son of the late Lloyd R. and Bess (McCullough) Philips.  Robert was retired from LTV where he worked in the Account Payable division. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he was in the 555th Battalion and was awarded four bronze stars.  Robert was a member to the New Brighton American Legion, Post #19 for 70 years where he was past commander and worked for the Beaver County tipstaff.  He served on the New Brighton School Board, CCBC Board of Directors, BVIU Board of Directors, and was an usher for the Philadelphia Phillies in Clearwater, Fl.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances “Toots” (Soriano) Philips and a daughter, Judith Rose.

Robert is survived by his son, Robert L. “Flip” Philips, Fombell, grandchildren, Joshua and Justin; great grandchildren, Ashlee, Rocco, Emilia and Elliotte; great great granddaughter, Gianna Sapienza; sister, Nancy “Nanny” Norton; nieces, nephews, and their families.  He is also survived by his good lifelong friend, Frank Hummel.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 10 a.m. in J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton.

Robert will be laid to rest in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.

Martha Ceratti (1930-2024)

Martha “Jane” (Berkey) Blackburn Ceratti, 93, of West Mayfield and formerly of Koppel, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the home of her dear friend Diane Kent, whom she considered family.
Jane was born on December 7, 1930, in Windber, PA, (Somerset County) She was the last surviving child of 11 born to the late Milton Ross Berkey and Nellie Pearle (Wilson) Berkey. She is retired from The Medical Center, Beaver as a patient escort. Jane had a deep faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord. She was a long time devoted member of Chippewa Alliance Church where she served as a deaconess for many years. She also was active in Bible studies and loved to eat out    with family and friends, especially with her Church friends on a weekly basis. Jane was well loved by all who knew her. She had a kind and loving heart toward everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Cecil Ansley Blackburn, 1996 and Michael Lee Ceratti, 1998.
Jane had five children, Rev. David Leroy (Nancy) Blackburn, Aubrey, TX; the late Cecil Dean Blackburn, died 2013; the late Craig Ansley Blackburn, died 1995; Mark Lewis (Tammy) Blackburn, East Liverpool, OH; Timothy Allen (Jeannie) Blackburn, West Mayfield. Jane also had 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and four stepchildren, and many cherished friends…..
Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 6th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Ave., Beaver Falls.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chippewa Alliance Church, 3629 37th Street Ext., Beaver Falls, PA 15010 with her Pastor, Rev. Dan Muir. She will be buried in Clinton Cemetery in Wampum, PA.

Louisa T. Mastrofrancesco (1936-2024)

Louisa T. Mastrofrancesco, 87, of Aliquippa, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Born April 9, 1936, in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Angelina Cerilli. Louisa worked many jobs in her lifetime, but she was especially gifted at being a mother and grandmother. She was a member of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish, St. Titus Roman Catholic Church, Aliquippa, and most recently, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Hopewell Twp.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 63-years, Roberto Mastrofrancesco; daughters, Liza (Jake) Ankrom, Beaver, Roberta (Ken) Goddard, Weirton, WV, and Renata (Mark) Shaw, Hookstown; sisters-in-law, Rita Palombo, Aliquippa, Marisa Graziani, Hopewell Twp., and Franca Guerrieri, Phoenix, AZ; cherished grandchildren, Gina (Tom) Risi, Wexford, Michaela (Zack) Meath, Stratham, NH, Kenny and Jake Goddard, Weirton, WV, and Ryan Shaw, Hookstown; and beloved great-grandchildren, Stella and Gabe Risi and Ellie Meath; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Louisa will be the first to meet her second great-grandson expected this summer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Patrizi and Lydia Lerini.

Emma Lou Oxley McIsaac (1931-2024)

Emma Lou Oxley McIsaac, 93, formerly of Beaver, passed away on January 31, 2024.
Born on January 21, 1931, in Donora, PA, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Sarah Weston Oxley. Emma was a 1948 graduate of Donora Senior High, and continued on to attend and graduate in 1952 from Geneva College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She had been employed at numerous places: US Steel, Commercial Resource in Pittsburgh, Drs Marion & Davis, First Presbyterian Church, and Synod of the Trinity. Emma was a faithful and longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Beaver, she joined in 1955 and had been a Deacon and an Elder. She was a member of Naomi Sisters and Century Club, as well as a past member of Gertrude Barrett Service Group, Crimson Line Friendship Ridge Volunteer, and Presbyterian Women.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Wylie McIsaac (1999); and her sister, Jane Cameron.
Emma will be sadly missed by her daughter, Jill (Patrick) Kelly, Wexford, PA; sons David McIsaac, Bradford Woods, PA, and Timothy (Kim) McIsaac Rapid City, SD; 8 grandchildren: Alison Lizzi, Pittsburgh; Caitlin Kelly, Wexford; Shannon Kelly, Wexford; Michael McIsaac, Pittsburgh; Claire McIsaac, Columbus, OH; Lauren McIsaac, Columbus, OH; Robert McIsaac, Bradford Woods, PA; & Brynne McIsaac, France; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael S. Oakey August 26, 1945 – January 29, 2024

Michael S. Oakey, 78, of Economy, formerly of Beaver, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024.

Born August 26, 1945 in Las Vegas, NV, he was a son of the late Thomas and Babette Oakey. Mike was a 1963 graduate of Carmel High School, CA, going on to study History and Aerospace Studies at Oregon State where he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the ROTC program. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 12 1/2 years, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters. Following his discharge from the military, Mike began a long career as a pilot, first with Eastern Airlines for 16 years, and then for another 15 with the former USAir, now American Airlines. After retirement he had moved to Jacksonville, Florida with Martha where they had lived 16 years before returning home to Beaver County. He was an active member of the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 862, VFW, Air Force Association, Distinguished Flying Cross Society, and the Airline Pilots Association.

Mike will be greatly missed by his wife of 29 years, Martha Wolf Oakey; son, John (Kristi) Oakey, and grandchildren, Blake, Brady (Maddie), Trinity, Alivia, Kaleb, and Kinley Oakey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 16, 2024 at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Saints Peter and Paul Church, 200 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009, at 11:30am followed by inurnment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville PA 15017, with Full Military Rites at 2:30pm.

CECELIA ANN (MOMICH) HELBLE 10/6/1936 — 1/28/2024

Cecelia Ann (Momich) Helble, 87, formerly of Baden, passed away peacefully January 28, 2024 in Villa St. Joseph. She was born in Aliquippa on October 6, 1936, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Klenovich) Momich.

Cecelia was a loving mother, grandmother, and overall force of nature. Her words always carried a strong opinion. She said how she felt and we loved it. Her card playing abilities were unmatched along with her perspective on life. She is remembered for many of her recipes including pirogi, apple cookies, and apricot kiefels which she made nearly every holiday. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of Charlie. When Charlie passed, she promised to see him soon.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Helble Jr (2018), and siblings, John Momich, Evelyn Hufnagel and Mildred King. She is survived by a sister Diane Quast; her children, David Helble, Lisa DiSanzo, Eve Lemire (Chuck Belczyk), Linda Helble and Thomas Helble (Cathy Cain); her 8 grandchildren, Adelle Helble, Kayla Helble, Jeremiah DiSanzo, Jordyn (James) Randolph, Emily (Tre) Crumpton, Michael (Carolyn) Lemire, Zachary Helble, and Alana Helble; 2 great grandchildren, Blake and Claire; and many nieces and nephews.

As per the family, all services will be private.

Lisa A. Pasco October 14, 1965 ~ January 30, 2024

Lisa A. Pasco, 58, of Conway, passed away at home on January 30, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Genevieve Pasco. She is survived by her loving Fiancé, Earl Locy, Uncles, Robert Labuda and Joseph Pasco, numerous cousins, her special friends, Margherita Morrone, Rose Ann Holcomb, Amy Lawrence and her furry companion, Shadow.

Lisa was a graduate of Freedom Area Highschool class of 1985 and attended Beaver County Vocational School. She started working at the age of 14 for Napoli Restaurant and Pizzeria in Northern Lights Shopping Center, then went onto to work 18 years for Pappans Restaurant. Her final and most important job was being a care giver for her mother, whom she loved and adored. Lisa was a phenomenal cook, she loved going to the casino, shopping at the Strip District in Pittsburgh, and going to concerts and vacations with her family and friends.

Friends will be received on Monday, February 5, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge, 724-266-2549. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 6, 2023, at Good Samaritan Church, Ambridge. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, New Sewickley Twp.
