Karen C. Galdony (Passed on November 26th, 2024)

Karen C. Galdony, 81, passed away in her Center Township home on November 26th, 2024. She was born in Sewickley, a daughter of the late Peter Michael Midzianowsky and Christine Midzianowsky Papinchak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Phyllis Schroeder, her sister, Patricia McBride, and her brother, Pete Midzianowsky.

She is survived by her two daughters, Chris (Mike) Bernard and Candy Brooks, a son-in-law, Dave (Trish) Schroeder, and her sister, Nadine (Brian) Safran.

She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and her great niece, Paisliegh.

Karen’s life was one of dedication and service, shown through her 39-year tenure as a clerk for the Center Township Water Authority. After retiring, she found joy in serving the youngest members of the community at her granddaughter’s day care center, Abbys Tiny Sprouts. There she became known as Mimi not only to her grandkids but to the little ones where she prepared lunches.

Karen’s zest for life was evident in her many interests. She was an avid bingo player and had a love for flower gardening. Karen also had a passion for puzzles and was known among friends for her enjoyment of a good beer.

Perhaps nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren that she leaves behind many cherished memories. They are: Carley Schroeder, Lucas Bernard, Austin Schroeder (Katelyn), Abby Bernard, Sidney Brooks, and Brayden Brooks.

Karen’s culinary interests included making pierogis for her family during the holidays. This tradition was one of the many ways she expressed her love and brought her family together.

All services will be private, the family has requested flowers be omitted and any memorial contributions be directed to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or given to the family.

Kimberly A. Hopkins (Passed on November 23rd, 2024)

Kimberly A. Hopkins, 62, of Monaca, passed away unexpectedly on November 23rd, 2024. She was born in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late Willis K. and Helen (Woody) Hopkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Heather Quinn of Rochester, her sister, Jenny Kashella of Monaca, her friends and neighbors, including David and Marcia Lutz of Monaca, Paul Barker and Carol Davey, along with her pet, Buddy. 

 She is survived by her siblings: Cindy Hopkins (Jim Finnell) of Rochester, and Eric (Tricia) Hopkins of Rochester, and the nieces and nephews she treated as her own: Connie Mabin of Economy (Kamryn and Anaiah); Shawn and Katelin Quinn of Center Township (Shawn, Mason and Landry); Justin Quinn and Rebecca Fields of Raccoon Township (Connor, Dylan, Addison and Cora); Michael and Kristi Mabin of Beaver (Michael “Mo,” Braylon and Miles); Brandon and Jenna Hopkins of Center Township, and Shane Hopkins of Rochester. She also will be missed by a large and loving family from around Beaver County and in Morgantown, W.Va.  

 Kimmy, as she was known, was a loving sister, aunt, dog mama and friend. She had a passion for animals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, nothing was more important to her than her family, especially her nieces and nephews whom she called her “heart and soul.” Being Aunt Kimmy, she often said, was her greatest love. 

A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 30th, at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 632 Virginia Ave, Rochester, followed by a committal service at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park of Rochester. A reception will follow at her nephew Michael’s home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Robert W. “Bob” Allen (1961-2024)

Robert “Bob” W. Allen, 63, of Chippewa Township, passed away on November 25th, 2024.

He was born in Rochester on October 2nd, 1961, the son of the late Fred C. and Eve M. (Fowler) Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Hayden.

He is survived by his wife, Linda A. (Robison) Allen; his children: Krista (Josh) Borgardt, Ashley (Eric) Krepps, Julia Allen, Fred (Fiancée Charlotte) Allen, and Michael Allen; his sisters, Amy Laderer and Peggy Palmer, his grandchildren, Travis, Austin and Alana, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends will be received on Saturday November 30th at 1 P.M. until the time of service at 4 p.m. at the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 340 3rd Street, Beaver. Rev. Dr. Judy Angleberger will officiate.

Daniel David Sheldon (1960-2024)

Daniel David Sheldon, 64 of Center Township, a beloved brother and uncle, passed away unexpectedly on November 25th, 2024. 
He was born in Sewickley on July 27th, 1960, the son of the late Jack H. and Christina Marie (Marocco) Sheldon. He is survived by his siblings: John Sheldon and Pam Ronczka, Gregory and Karen Sheldon, Anna Sheldon and Jacqueline Griggs. In addition to his brothers and sisters, he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, an aunt, Eleanor Cater, an uncle, Frank Marocco, many cousins, his beloved dog, Mable and a good friend, Joe Chunchick, who he enjoyed fishing and riding with. 
Daniel retired from the Labor’s Union Local 1058 working in construction. 
He enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle and was an avid fisherman spending hours on the water patiently waiting for the perfect catch. 
According to Daniel’s request, there will not be any visitation.

Michael “Mike” Kimak (1927-2024)

Michael “Mike” Kimak, 97, formerly of Aliquippa, passed away on November 26th, 2024.

He was born in West Aliquippa on May 22, 1927, the son of the late Willam and Mary Kimak.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joanne (Poletta) Kimak, two brothers, John Kimak and Albert Kimak, and four sisters: Mary Rebich, Ann Kimak, Helen Kimak and Margie Bengas. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Michael was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in the 9th Infantry during the Korean War. He later joined the Military Honor Guard honoring other veterans at their funerals.

He was a member of Saint Titus Church, part of Mary Queen of Saints Parish. Mike was a faithful parishioner, he formerly served as an usher at Mass and was a member of the Holy Name Society.

He retired from Jl/LTV Steelworks having worked in the Welded Tube Department.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 30th, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc., 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa.

Brian J. Hays (1961-2024)

Brian J. Hays, 63, formerly of South Park, passed away on November 24th, 2024 at his residence in Darlington. 
He was born in Glassport, Pennsylvania on July 2nd, 1961, the son of the late Burton C. and Mary E. (Hospodar) Hays. In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by an infant brother, David. Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen S. (Taptich) Hays, whom he married on June 28, 2008. He is also survived by his children: Ashleigh E. (Nate) Nix, Brian (Tuesday) Hays, and Dale (Carrie) Moll; eight grandchildren: Logan, Gerrit, Aria, Harper, Nate, Jaxon, Nash, and Noah; siblings: Andrea (Joe Bernot) Vojtko, Doris (George) Protz, Eileen Hays, David (Debbie) Hays, and Timothy (Eileen) Hays; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. 
Brian was a proud graduate of Penn State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree, and an alumnus of Point Park University, where he completed his Master’s Degree. 
Brian was a devoted and loving father, a cherished husband, and a loyal friend to all who knew him, including the lifelong friends he treasured since childhood. As the youngest of six children, Brian shared a special bond with his siblings, who were always there for one another through every stage of life. He had a love for traveling and cherished relaxing by the pool with his wife, Eileen, whose unwavering support throughout his battle with illness was nothing short of extraordinary. Together, they created countless memories filled with love, laughter, and resilience. 
Brian had a deep passion for Penn State and was an avid fan of the Nittany Lions. Whether cheering on his team or simply sharing a smile, he brought joy and warmth to those around him. His legacy of kindness, love, and determination will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. 
 
Services and arrangements were entrusted to the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls. 
Private interment will take place in Beaver Falls Cemetery.

Edward L. Schupp (1962-2024)

Edward L. Schupp, 62, of Rochester passed away on November 21st, 2024 at his home. He was born on September 4th, 1962 in Rochester, the son of the late William C. and Esther Emogene Minnich Schupp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth E. Schupp, Jr., Larry “Butch” Schupp, Gerry W. Schupp and Robert J. Schupp. He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Donna Ann Schupp of New Sewickley Township and Patty Schupp of Jamestown, New York, as well as a special friend, Steve Jackson of Rochester. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Edward was an employee with Homer Nine and Sons of Bridgewater. He was Methodist by faith and a member of the Rochester Owl’s Nest, the West Mayfield VFW, the Rochester Turners. He was also an avid Steeler and Pirate fan. He also loved fishing and all who knew him knew him as a very generous person who helped anyone who needed him. Edward’s wish was to be cremated with no services. Arrangements are entrusted to the William F. Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams Street, Rochester.

Suzanne Lee Eppley (1943-2024)

Suzanne Lee Eppley, 81, of Aliquippa, passed away on November 25th, 2024 in her home.  She was born on May 8th, 1943, the daughter of the late Cloyd and Virginia Eppley.

She is survived by three cousins: Carol Brent, Robert Machen, and Sandra Machen. She is also survived by her family, Debora Casey, Brandy Patton, Casmir Reddick, Whisper Green, Nevaeh Reddick, and Syon Reddick who meant everything to her. She was employed by the Aliquippa School District as a secretary for 53 years.

The family would also like to thank Gateway Hospice for all their support.

A private service will be held in her honor. Arrangements have been entrusted to the branch of Huntsman Funeral Homes.

Laquita F. Frankhouser (1935-2024)

Laquita F. Frankhouser, 89, of Chippewa Township, passed away on November 24th, 2024, at Franciscan Manor.

She was born on March 14th, 1935, in Elm Grove, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Brooks) Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Regis E. Frankhouser Sr. and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons, Regis E. (Chelsea) Frankhouser and Gregg (Paula) Frankhouser, four grandchildren: Cassie (Micah) Popp, Zach Frankhouser, Katie (Jake) Rains, and Trey Frankhouser and great-grandchild, Waelyn Popp.

Laquita had a rewarding career as a registered nurse. She spent many years working for the Beaver Valley Geriatrics Center.

She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, whether at a family reunion or at Saturday night couple’s bowling.

A memorial visitation for Regis and Laquita will be held on Sunday, December 8th from 4 P.M. until the time of service at 6 P.M. in CORLESS-KUNSELMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls.

Interment will be held on Monday, December 9th at 11 A.M. at Green Ridge Memorial Park, 2901 Memorial Boulevard, Connellsville, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made in Laquita’s name to the Beaver County Humane Society- 3394 Brodhead Road Aliquippa, PA 15001.

Belva Lou Pantoni (1935-2024)

Belva Lou Pantoni, 89, of Midland, passed away surrounded by her family on November 22nd, 2024 at Lakeview Personal Home.
She was born on October 13th, 1935 in Industry, the daughter of the late Robert Glenn and Olive Popp Hammond. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony “Pidge” Pantoni, Jr., infant daughter, Denise Pantoni, son-in-law, Kim Kriner, brother, Keith Hammond and two sisters, Phyllis Dawson and Genie Douglas.

She is survived by two daughters, Theresa “Tina” (Fred) Romantine, Moon Twp. and Toni Kriner, Lisbon, Ohio, a son, Anthony Joseph “A.J.” (Tracey) Pantoni III of Cranberry, her cherished grandchildren who loved their “Mam”: Allegra Pantoni, Amy Romantine, Tricia Romantine, Vito (Elizabeth) Romantine, Dante Romantine, Alicia (Andy) Lubich, and Leanna (Scott Mick) Nolder; seven great-grandchildren: Jacob Rocco Romantine, Madison and Karsyn Nolder, Brodey Lubich, Andrew Rollert, and Anthony and Arlo Romantine; along with special nieces, Nancy (Ken) Kacko, Mary Francis Pilarski, and Kathy (Paul) Austin.

She had been a resident of the Midland area all of her life. Belva had retired from Westinghouse where she was an office manager at the Shippingport location. A faithful member of St. Blaise Church of Midland, she was also a member of ISDA and the St. Anthony Club.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 26th, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the SCHWERHA-NOLL FUNERAL HOME, 629 Midland Avenue, Midland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Blaise Church, 772 Ohio Avenue, Midland. Private interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery.
