Kathryn B. DeChicko, 91, formerly of College Hill, passed away on July 17th, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Ellwood City on July 1st, 1934, a daughter of the late Richard and Marion Slade Means. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph M. DeChicko, her son, Ralph (Nancy) DeChicko, and her brother-in-law, Tony Scala. She is survived by her daughter, Kathi (Alan) Irwin, her brother, Chuck (Betsy) Means, her sister, Janet Scala, her four grandchildren, Molly (CJ) Morley, Shawn (Lauren) Irwin, Matt (Rebekah) DeChicko and Nick (Jessica) DeChicko and nine great-grandchildren. In her lifetime, Kathryn wore many hats, from serving customers at DeAngelis Donuts and Bell Telephone to ensuring the safety of children as a school crossing guard and serving food at The Restaurant at Blackhawk Golf Course. Despite her various roles, Kathryn’s life was centered around her joyous love for life and people. She eagerly looked forward to her monthly card club, where she would spend hours shuffling decks and sharing laughter. She was a lover of the simple joys of life. Kathryn relished in the tranquility of sitting on her porch, engaging in hearty conversations with passersby and watching her great-granddaughter, Chloe, in her drag races. Deborah Louise Carr, 69, passed away on July 14th, 2025.

She was born on February 15th, 1956. Her parents were Ralph Richard (Genevieve) Carr, Sr. and Charlotte Esther Cummins Carr. She was the oldest of four siblings: Nora Carr, Ralph (Sharon) Carr,Jr.) and Allan Carr.

Deborah was part of the first class to graduate from Blackhawk High School in 1974. She worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike for nearly 37 years: six months as summer help, two years supplemental working more than 40 hours a week and 35 years full time. She opened Route 60 Mt Jackson herself. When Toll Route 60 was completed, they added two more people. Then went on to open State Route 576 with three people.

She was known for her most beautiful smile! Her immense kindness and love she poured out on so many. She loved to laugh. Always a strong woman encouraging and uplifting those around her. Going out of her way to do kind things for so many. Making sure her loved ones are taken care of and always there for them. Her love for others she made so clear. She loved gardening flowers, laughing, and watching funny movies. Her laughter roared playing the card game war with her grandson. She also enjoyed shooting guns. She loved her German Shepherd dogs Nitro and Ranger like her own children.

She loved Jesus and was often found reading her Bible. She has always been very talented in painting, making a variety of crafts and sewing, giving most as gifts or donating to raise money for an organization. She would make special clothing and hand sewn items for her loved ones. She would make chocolate candies for gifts or to raise money for an organization. She enjoyed muscle cars and riding motorcycles. Her first car was a 69 SS Chevelle. She was the Abate membership officer notary, serving and volunteering in her community of Homewood Junction. She also volunteered her time, talent and resources to raise money for the firemen.

Debbie was the best Mom and Nanny. The loves of her life are her daughter, Michelle (Matthew) Sokoloski and her grandson, Isaac (Karli) Knight.

She loved all her nieces and nephews dearly: Gregg, Stefanie, Michelle, Kimmy, Michael, Joshua, Alex, Jacob; as well as additional nieces and nephews from marriage. She loved all thirteen great nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews.

Lori Ann Brenner, 52, of Chippewa, passed away on July 14th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Rochester on May 3rd, 1973, the beloved daughter of Michelle (Wayne) Perkins of New Brighton and Rudy (Cindy) Vukas of Beaver Falls. She was a proud graduate of New Brighton High School who earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Geneva College and then went on to earn her Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan.
Lori was a dedicated professional, serving as a Training Manager in the Pharmaceutical Division at Bayer since 2013. She was known not only for her intelligence and work ethic but also for her deep compassion, sense of humor, and competitive spirit.
She was a true animal lover who especially adored her five cats: Pepper, Snickers, Daphne, Bongo and Brodie, who brought her endless joy. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a fan of fun at Dave & Buster’s who enjoyed countless hours of gaming with her husband and son at Pac-Man, Skeeball and arcade games. She found immense joy and happiness in traveling and exploring new places. Lori was widely traveled and enjoyed the diverse cultures and rich history of her many adventures.
Lori was also deeply involved in the NFT community on X (formerly Twitter), where she was known as Queen VeVe. Through this platform, she raised a substantial amount for the First Responders Children’s Foundation, a cause close to her heart. She was committed to supporting children who had lost a parent in the line of duty, helping ensure they received toys during the holidays and access to educational opportunities. Lori hoped to grow her involvement with the foundation and continue making a difference for these families.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her devoted husband of three years, William B. Keifer, her cherished son, Maxwell D. Brenner and a host of close family members and friends. Her loving spirit, unwavering generosity, and fierce loyalty will be remembered by all who knew her.

William Ralph Mack, 82, passed away on July 11th, 2025 at H&M Personal Care Home of Coraopolis after a period of declining health.

He was born in Sewickley on March 12th, 1943 in Sewickley. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary (Harbutack) Mack. He is survived by his cousins, Daniel A. Willis, Betsy Neisnack Pfannenstiel and Paul Neisnack (Carleen).

William was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enlisted at age 17 and served six years in the USN Reserve with two years of active duty. At age 27, he reenlisted and served one year of active duty.

Alan Ross Gill, 74, of Darlington, passed away peacefully on July 13th, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Alan was born in Beaver Falls on August 16th, 1950, a son of the late Robert and Lila Mae Erenberg.  He was a graduate of Northwestern High School, where he went on to work as an Electrical Journeyman Wireman for IBEW Local 712 for 40 years. Alan attended the Aliquippa Christian Assembly Church. He had a great love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, wisdom in His Word and a kind and generous spirit for those in need. He found great joy in fishing and trap shooting, but nothing compared to loving and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Ann Gill, his children, Alex Gill and his wife, Nicole, Taylor Gill-Kenny and her husband, James and Megan Pahler and her husband Kyle, a brother, Gary Gill and his wife, Terry, four grandchildren, Aidan, Liberty, Finnegan, and Wren; along with numerous nieces and friends.

Selba Jean Teams, 84, of Monaca, passed away on July 16th, 2025. She was born in Ocala, Florida, a daughter of the late Dave and Blanche Casey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Casey and Irvin Casey and a sister, Geneva Hawkins. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Teams, her sons, John (Gina) Teams of Rochester, Brad (Shelly) Teams of New Sewickley and David (Karen) Teams of Chippewa, her grandchildren: Jonathan Teams, Michael Teams, Jeremy Teams, Nathan Teams and Kaitlyn Teams; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Selba was a member of Ridge Pointe Family Church of Beaver where she and her husband together had unwavering faith and deep compassion. She found joy and strength in her relationship with God. Selba was a woman whose heart knew no bounds and her greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her family and friends.

Friends will be received on Friday, July 18th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at SIMPSON FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, who was in charge of her arrangements and where services will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 12:30 p.m. Private entombment will follow.

Carolyn L. Brown, 78, of Aliquippa, passed away on July 13th, 2025 at Sewickley Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania on June 16th, 1947, a daughter of the late Clarence W. Nicely and Eileen E. Shearer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and her brothers, Richard and Raymond. She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Steve) Slowinski, Diane (Thomas) Morse and Doreen (Gary) Gill, her brother, Ronald, her sisters, Eleanor, Diana, Sharin, and Leasa; as well as nine grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Carolyn was Christian by faith. She had worked as a waitress and as a receptionist. She also enjoyed bowling.

Phyllis Marie (Debo) Holman, 83, formerly of New Brighton, passed away on July 11th, 2025 at her residence in Palm Bay, Florida.

She was born in New Brighton on May 9th, 1942, a daughter of the late John W. and Evelyn Mae (Beitsch) Debo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Edward Henry Holman, a brother, John “Pete” (Mary Jane) Debo and brother-in-law, James Vukich. She is survived by her son, David (Cherina Emery) Holman, her grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley) Cross, Tyler Holman, and Tori Holman, her siblings, Janet (Robert) Kelvington and Kathryn Vukich, her special friends: Tom Ballard, Mike (Peggy) Linden, Liz Browning, Mac, Debbie, Bernice, Pat, and Diana; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was a 1960 graduate of New Brighton High School. In her younger years, she found joy making ceramics. She was an avid Steelers football fan throughout her life. In her later years, Phyllis enjoyed going to the gym. She absolutely adored her grandchildren. She was also known to love voicing her opinion. She enjoyed her yearly trips back and forth from Florida.

Friends will be received on Monday, July 21st from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, Inc., 1133 Penn Avenue, New Brighton, who was in charge of her arrangements. A celebrant service will take place on Tuesday, July 22nd at 11 A.M. in that funeral home.

Leon William “Bill” Kelly, 68, of Chippewa Township, passed away on July 15th, 2025 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh surrounded by family.

He was born in Beaver Falls on September 7th, 1956, a son of the late John  (Jack) C. and Marianne (Faris) Kelly. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39.5 years, who he married on October 12, 1985, Nancy (Balzer) Kelly, his son, Ryan (Caitlin) Kelly, a granddaughter, Cecelia, his siblings, John C. Kelly Jr., Richard A. Kelly, and Margaret “ Peggy” Kelly, his nieces and nephews: Kaya, Kelly, John, Kate, Erin, Nick, and Cam; as well as his two canine companions Trixie and Nova.

Leon was a proud engineer and a graduate of West Virginia University. He later received an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and cheered on both the Mountaineers and Panthers. in his younger years, he loved fishing and cycling. After retiring, he found his real passion in birding. Above of all else, he was a dedicated grandfather, father, and husband.  He was a member of St. Monica Church of Beaver Falls, part of St. Augustine parish. He had a great sense of humor and was quick with a joke, but would take his time with a story.  He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Friends will be received on Sunday July 20th from 1-4 P.M. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, who was in charge of his arrangements.

Jenny L. Flook, 74, of Conway, passed away on July 15th, 2025 in UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born on May 11th, 1951, a daughter of the late Charlotte (Snedden) Stuckwish. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, who she married in 1967, Robert L. Flook Sr.; as well as her siblings, Charles, Judy, and Connie. She is survived by her five children, Jenny Lynn (Charles) Rape, Diana Lee Flook, Robert L. (Jill Allison) Flook Jr., Laura Lee Flook-Leach and John Luther (April Wojcuich) Flook and ten grandchildren: David, Kimberly, Adam, Hanna, Jaxson, Melody, Rylee, Levi, Harmony, and Zane and four dogs, Rusty, Betsy, Copper, and Tod.

Jenny adored her family and her dogs. She loved cooking and crafting with her children. She enjoyed making candy and baking cookies. In her younger years, she found joy wood working.
