Eric M. Ruprecht (1950-2025)

Eric M. Ruprecht, 75, of Edgeworth, passed away on May 26th, 2025. He was born in Sewickley on April 26th, 1950, a son of the late Fredrick and Janet (McLuckie) Ruprecht. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mindy Ruprecht of Edgeworth. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Christine (Gibb) Ruprecht, his daughter, Rachel (Ruprecht) COL Mark) Orlandi of Fort Novosel, Alabama, his grandson, Trenton Ruprecht (Angelina) of Edgeworth, his brothers, David (Linda) Ruprecht of Hollister, California and Gary (April) Ruprecht of Pepperill, Massachusetts and his sisters, Valerie (Ruprecht) Bob) Bartosh of Sun City Center, Florida, and Lisa (Ruprecht) Tom) Mahoney of Marstons Mills, Massachusetts.

Eric was a lifelong resident of Edgeworth, and he graduated from Quaker Valley High School. He then went on to attend Robert Morris University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance/Accounting. He worked as an accountant for P&LE Railroads, served as a Director of The Bradford School, and retired as the VP of Commercial Management & Properties at the Allegheny Airport Authority after 26 years of service. Additionally, he was a partner at Ruprecht & Ruprecht Accounting, a Life Member and President/Captain of the Edgeworth Volunteer Fire Department. While his girls were in school and active in their sports, Eric served as President of the Quaker Valley Girls Soccer Association and helped coach recreational soccer and softball.

All are welcome to gather for a visitation on Friday, May 30th, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and on Saturday, May 31st from 10 A.M. until the time of a service at 11 A.M., in the John Syka Funeral Home Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Eric’s wish was to be cremated.

Velva L. Krepps (1930-2025)

Velva L. Krepps, 94, of Brighton Township, passed away on May 24th, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Brighton Township on June 22nd, 1930, a daughter of the late Harold and Eva Bryner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Krepps and her sisters, Grace Hart, Betty DeVaux, and Dorothy Brooks. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Anne) Krepps of Tucson, Arizona, Richard (Rose) Krepps of Brighton Township and George Krepps of Brighton Township, her step-daughter, Marilyn “Penny” (Robert) Brumbaugh of West Palm Beach, Florida, her brother, Harold “Bill” Bryner of Brighton Township, her sister, Diana Williams of Ravenswood, West Virginia, her grandchildren: James (Leona) Krepps, Michael (Sarah Jane) Krepps, Matthew (Ina) Krepps, Salena Krepps, and Joshua Krepps; as well as her great-grandchildren, Otto and Cassius Krepps and Lenore Krepps.

Velva was a resident of Brighton Township for her entire life. She was a faithful member of Four Mile Church of Beaver, where she served as a Deacon and had many active roles in the church. She had worked and retired from the former Beaver Trust, after working for over 20 years in both the Beaver and Brighton Township branches. Velva volunteered for the Red Cross and Crimson Auxiliary at Friendship Ridge and loved to make and share baskets, which she would often demonstrate at craft shows.

Steven E. Wengryn (1955-2025)

Steven E. Wengryn, 69, of Chippewa Township, passed away unexpectedly on May 24th, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Carnegie on November 27th, 1955, the son of the late Michael and Eva (Wolanska) Wengryn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Wengryn and Maria Wolanska. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary (Hickman) Wengryn, his children, Michael Wengryn, Stephanie Wengryn, and Corinna (Shannon) Caudill, two grandsons, Thomas, and Nicholas Caudill, his canine companion, Ruby and his dog, Savvy. He was fortunate to have many close friendships throughout his life, especially with Mark, Della, Anthony, and Dean, who were by his side through so many good times. He also shared a special bond with Stefanie Cindric, his daughter’s lifelong best friend, who was like a daughter to him and supported him and his family through many of life’s challenges.

Steven was a graduate of Carlynton High School with the Class of 1973, who went on to study aviation at Beaver County Community College and Middle Tennessee State University. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served as a fighter pilot from 1979 until 1987. Following his military service, he flew for American Airlines as a Captain from 1987 until his retirement in 2020.

Steven was known for his warmth, generosity, and sense of fun. He was the kind of person who would do anything for those he loved. He enjoyed golfing, winemaking, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers as a longtime season ticket holder. He was the heart of the tailgate and loved spending time with friends at the “Smoke Stack.” Above all, he loved being with his family, his children and grandchildren were his greatest joy.

Friends will be received on Monday, June 2nd from 3-7 P.M. at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, where a blessing service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd at 11 AM.

Interment with full military honors will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Tuesday, June 3rd at 2 P.M.

Wanda Jean (Gent) Herbert (1953-2025)

Wanda Jean (Gent) Herbert, 71, formerly known as Wanda Snyder, passed away on May 21st, 2025 in PAM Health Specialty Hospital at Heritage Valley Beaver.

She was born in Winchester, Virginia on July 21st, 1953, a daughter of the late Mack and Georgia (Combs) Gent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gary Snyder and two siblings, Carol Gent and Jack Gent. She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 21 years, Martin James Herbert III, a son, Michael (Daline Ung) Snyder, her step-children, Beck (Matt) Caldwell, Marty (Jessica) Herbert IV and Adam (Tasha) Herbert and a sister, Linda Gent.

Wanda worked at Valley Health Winchester Medical Center in Virginia for over 19 years.

All services for Wanda were private.

George Allan Fabi (1949-2025)

George Allan Fabi, 75, of Beaver, passed away on May 24th, 2025, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley. He was born in Rochester on December 29th, 1949, a son of the late Bernard John and Dora Alice Scogna Fabi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Francis B. Fabi and his sister, Marilyn J. Manos. He is survived by his aunt, Emma Rocco, his cousins and their families, Michael Rocco, Samuel Rocco, and Robert Rocco, his HAP, Inc. Family and Dr. Paul Puppi. George was a member of St. John the Baptist Church of Monaca, part of Mary Queen of Saints Parish. He spent many years a stock person for Rochester Giant Eagle and Gabriel’s in Baden, but most of all, he enjoyed traveling, theater events, sporting events and sports memorabilia. He also loved jigsaw puzzles and crafts.  Friends will be received on Thursday, May 29th from 1-5 P.M. in CORLESS-KUNSELMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 30th at 10 A.M. at Saint John the Baptist Church, 1409 Pennsylvania Avenue, Monaca, 15061. Martha “Jean” Ramsey (1931-2025)

Martha “Jean” Ramsey, 94, of Aliquippa, passed away on May 23rd, 2025. She was born in West Virginia on January 17th, 1931, a daughter of the late Paul Funk and Ruth Funk Glover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn W. Ramsey and eight of her siblings: Ellen, Shirley, David, Harry, Arlene, Ray, Darlene and Linda. She is survived by a sister, Carol Pesich, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha worked for J&L Steel in the Tin Mill as a checker. She also loved animals and enjoyed showing her love by donating to numerous animal charities.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa, 2345 Mill Street, Aliquippa, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park at the cemetery at 450 Penn Avenue, Aliquippa.

John Wesley Cable, Jr. (1958-2025)

John Wesley Cable, Jr., 66, of Coraopolis, formerly of Beaver County, passed away on May 24th, 2025, after a battle with heart disease.
He was born in Rochester on December 20th, 1958, and was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Sr. and Ella M. Creese Cable, an infant brother, George and his brothers-in-law, James A. Wedgewood and Chuck W. Noah. He is survived by his sisters, Mariella Noah, Leslie Wedgewood, Jai-Ellen St. George, and Shelly Cable; as well as seven nieces and two nephews, several great nieces and great nephews. John was close to his niece, Brooke Lee-Anne Kozol (Laughren), having shared a love for the Miami Dolphins and his special friend and her daughters, Sheena M. Ball and Ash’Lee Nichole Bentley and Alexis Breanna Ball.

John was a member of Unionville United Methodist Church and had worked as a roofer and security guard. He was an avid Blood Donor for the American Red Cross, and will be remembered as being very social, loving to socialize with everyone.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Midland American Legion, 800 Midland Avenue, Midland, on Friday May 30th from 6-8 p.m.

Val W. Kuebel (1949-2025)

Val W. Kuebel, 76, of Brighton Township, passed away on May 24th, 2025 at Beaver Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on February 20th, 1949, in North Canton, Ohio, a son of the late Maurice and Gloria Kuebel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ann. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Nadine Arlov Kuebel, his daughter, Valerie Ann Kuebel of Brighton Township, his brother, Van Kuebel of California and Greg (Cathy) Kuebel of Tennessee and his granddaughter, Alaina Marie Kuebel. Val had been a resident of Brighton Township for the past 38 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He worked and retired from Crucible Steel, Colt Industries as a crane operator. He was a lifetime member of Midland Sportsman Club. He was also an avid outdoorsman who especially loved hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 28th in the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver, from 11 a.m. until the time of a procession at 1 p.m. for Full Military Rites at the Beaver Cemetery, conducted by the Beaver County Special Unit.

Elsie M. Schlack (1936-2025)

Elsie M. Schlack, 89, of Vanport Township, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2025, in the comfort of her home.

She was born in Rochester on February 27th, 1936, a daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Potts) Kleber. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Schlack, Sr. and her siblings: Frank Kleber, Jr., Betty Estel, Martha Legge, Joan Sedlacek, Thelma “Tootsie” Anzur, and Delores “Dolly” Helzel. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her loving children: Cindy Capp, Duane (Karen) Schlack, Jr., Debbie (Joe) Kidda, Sharon (Jim) Forner, Pam (John) Forsythe, and Mike (Ami) Schlack; as well as fourteen grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild on the way and numerous extended family and friends.

Elsie had worked as a clerk in the Beaver County Election office for 22 years prior to her retirement. She was Presbyterian by faith and was the past president of the Van Buren Homes Association. Following her retirement, she was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her home and family.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 28th from 4-7 P.M. in the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 340 Third Street, Beaver, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, May 29th at 11 A.M.

Interment will be private in Beaver Cemetery.

Loretta Wilson Marsh (1925-2025)

Loretta Wilson Marsh, 99, passed away on May 18th, 2025 of natural causes at St. Barnabas, Beaver Meadows.

She was born in Ellwood City on August 16th, 1925, the daughter of the late Raymond and Edna Burns Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edwin L. Marsh and her brother, William Wilson. She is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn and her husband William Timoney of Rancho Mirage, California and Laraine Marsh of Orlando, Florida, her nieces, Marsha Schaer of Beaver, Patty Aumiller of Ellwood City and her nephew, Paul and his wife, Wendy of Cranberry Township.

Loretta graduated from Ellwood City High School in 1943, where she was active in tennis and the drama club. She then attended Westminster College and graduated from Geneva College in 1947, where she met the love of her life and husband, Edwin L. Marsh. Loretta was a former teacher at Beaver Area High School and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver where she participated in Hodge Band and Naomi Circle. She was a member of her beloved bridge club for over 60 years, and a longtime member of the Ladies Golf League at Blackhawk Golf Club.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 30th from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon at the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 340 Third Street, Beaver, followed by a brief service officiated by the Pastor Ron Cepek.

A private interment will be held at Locust Grove Cemetery of North Sewickley Township.
