Peggy M. Krut (1947-2024)

Peggy M. Krut, 76, of Daugherty Township, passed away on August 4, 2024 in Villa-St. Joseph.

Born on August 6, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Fay (Measel) Forrester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Krut. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ronald P. Krut; two daughters, Christina (Jools) Bourne and Julie Krut; three grandchildren, Taylor Vukich, Kalob Strohecker and Kyle Strohecker; a sister, Margie Forrester; two nieces, Jodi Miller and Jill (Bob)Wahl; a nephew, Paul (Taryn) Miller; and an incredibly special and lifelong friend, Norma Krechowski.

As an avid gardener, Peggy found immense joy in tending to her beautiful garden and absolutely loved watching birds.  She was a dedicated and talented creator of greeting cards and was a member of the Stampin’ Up card club.  She also had an adventurous spirit and was a member of the H.O.G. Motorcycle Club. Peggy dedicated her entire life to taking care of others, both professionally as a nurse, and personally of everyone she knew.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 7th from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m. A service will be held on Thursday, August 8th at 10 a.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC.,117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.

Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park of Rochester.

Margaret Ann Johanningmeier (1965-2024)

Margaret Ann (Heuring) Johanningmeier, 58, of Bridgewater, formerly of Rochester passed away on August 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 31, 1965 in Rochester, the daughter of Geraldine Rotuna Heuring of Rochester Township and the late Thomas P. Heuring. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dominic (Nick) M. Johanningmeier, Sr. She is also survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Ryan Michael Perkins and Joelle Blizman of Brighton Township, Dominic M. Jr. and Heather Johanningmeier, and Skyler L. Johanningmeier of York, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, Kayden, Pierce, Phoenix and Kinslee, one brother and sister-in-law Thomas F. and Kim Heuring of Hopewell, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Leslie and Dan Verrico, Sr. of Wilmington, North Carolina, Mary R. and John Beatty of Rohester, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.She was employed by RFG Financials of Philadelphia. She was a woman of deep Christian faith and very spiritual in her faith with God. She was a 1983 graduate of Rochester High School and received her Associate Degree in Communication from Penn State University Beaver Campus. Her wish was to be cremated but friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday, August 8 from 4:00 PM until a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 5:00 PM in the William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams Street, Rochester. Officiating will be Fr. Howard Campbell, Pastor of Our Lady of the Valley Parish. The family wishes memorial contributions be made in her memory to any Children’s Christmas Gift Program of their choice.

Jared Patrick Krut (2000-2024)

Jared Patrick Krut, 24, of Monroeville, formerly of South Beaver Township, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2024.

Born on July 31, 2000, in Beaver, he was the beloved son of Mark and Erin (Davis) Krut.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Wilfrid Krut; and his maternal grandparents, Charles and Lee Davis.

In addition to his parents, Jared is survived by his brothers, Jordan and Evan Krut; his paternal grandmother, Elise Krut; aunts and uncles, Mark (Angela) Davis, Chris Davis, Jennifer Davis, Gary (Doreen) Krut, Lisa (Mike) Haffey, Susan (Ray) Russell, Greg (Toni) Krut, Bryan (Joyce) Krut, and Leanne (Jerry) Speelman; cousins, Austin, Hannah, Abigail, Emma, Collin, Erin, Kierstan, Stefan, Mike, Julie, Shannon, Shawna, Shane, Bethany, Matt, Andrew, Amanda, Alexis, Ryan, Rachel, and Nicole; many friends and the cherished family pup, Aubs.

Jared was a 2019 graduate of Blackhawk High School. He continued his education at Penn State University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Post graduation, Jared joined Bechtel Plant Machinery Incorporated where he took pride in his work as an Associate Contract Professional. He was a member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church.

Jared was a brilliant individual and an avid reader with a great love for historical events and figures. With his vast knowledge, he was a coveted team player on family game night. His cleverness and quick wittedness often resulted in humorous one-liners. Jared was a sports fan and especially liked watching Penn State and Steelers football with his family. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee, a glass of fine Scotch, his mom’s lady locks, grandma’s apple pie, ping pong, board games, sitcoms, and running.

Growing up with a large extended family, Jared had many memorable times with his cousins. He loved hide and seek outside and wiffle ball in the basement at Grammy & Pap Pap Krut’s. With his Davis cousins, he spent many summers at the Isle of Palms in South Carolina. Jared’s gregarious and fun-loving personality will be greatly missed by everyone whom he impacted.

Friends will be received on Thursday, August 8th from 1-3 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.

Jared will lie-in-state on Friday, August 9th from 10-11AM at Chippewa United Methodist Church, 2545 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls. Funeral proceedings will begin at 11 A.M. Pastor Alan Brooks will officiate.

Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Patricia Ann Cain (1940-2024)

Patricia Ann Cain, 83, passed away on August 2nd, 2024. Born on August 29, 1940, she is survived by her husband Robert Wayne Cain, as well as her three sons, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Patricia graduated in 1958 from Ridgeway high school in Pennsylvania. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree as a Social English Major at Slippery Rock University in 1962. She taught in the Northwestern school district, Beaver Falls school district and Community College of Beaver County. Patricia resided in Ridgeway and then relocated to New Brighton, and she and her husband settled down to raise a family in White Township. Patricia was a giving mother and grandmother, as well as a loving and devoted wife.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton. A funeral service will follow the viewing at 4 p.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Bobby V. Wilson, officiating.

Patricia will then be laid to rest at Grove Cemetery of New Brighton.

 

Robert A. Kuhel (1941-2024)

Robert A. Kuhel, 83, of Ambridge, passed away on July 31, 2024 in Allegheny General Hospital.

Born on April 10, 1941, in Sewickley, he was a son of the late Rudolph and Julia Smolinsky Kuhel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Kuhel.

He is survived by his loving wife, Michaelene Kuhel, son Richard Kuhel, 2 daughters Amy (John) Fedora and Julie Kuhel, 3 grandchildren Josh Chmura, Jacob & Caylin Fedora, 3 great grandchildren; Sage, Onyx, & Kason Chmura, brother & sister-in-law Rudy (Sally) Kuhel, sister & brother-in-law Rebecca (Jim) Rooker, and several nieces & nephews.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, was a retired custodian and maintenance man for the Avonworth & North Allegheny School Districts, and an avid golfer.

Friends will be received on Monday August 5, 2024 from 3-7 P.M. in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a prayer service will be held Tuesday August 6, 2024 at 10 A.M. Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Catholic Cemetery.

Dorothy T. (Pawloski) O’Neill (1946-2024)

Dorothy T. O’Neill, 78, of Ambridge passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024 in Heritage Valley of Sewickley. Born on January 25, 1946, in Sewickley, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mildred Bachor Pawloski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Pawloski, her father and mother-in-law, Richard Sr. And Anna O’Neill, brothers and sisters-in -law; Richard O’Neill, Patsey O’Neill, Rita Watts and Jerry O’Neill. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas E. O’Neill, her children; Lynne (Bryan) Walsh, Lisa (Kevin) Charleton, Kelly (Sean) Walsh and Sean O’Neill, grandchildren; Sean (Hollie), Krystal (Dan), Lauren (Ryan), Brannon (Marlaina), Alyssa, Thomas, Gillian (Doug), Sean, and Ian, a great granddaughter; Kentley, a brother, Timothy Pawloski, brother and sisters-in-law; Barbara O’Neill and Peggy and John O’Neill, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her faithful fur companions, Penny and Seven. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She had retired from Sewickley Valley Hospital Transcription and was previously employed there as a unit clerk. Before working, she spent her time raising her family and honing her renowned Polish cooking skills. Later, she enjoyed spending time with all of her family and making sure everyone was well fed. She also played a mean game of Bingo. Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Alvarez Hahn Funeral Home, 547 8th Street, Ambridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at St. Luke/Good Samaritan Church, 725 Glenwood Avenue, Ambridge. Burial will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery, Fair Oaks. The family would like to thank Dr. Tiberio and the nurses of the CCU at Heritage Valley of Sewickley for the compassionate care they her and all of the family.

James F. Savilisky, III (1956-2024)

James F. Savilisky, III, 68, of Patterson Township, passed away on July 31, 2024, in his residence.

Born on June 12, 1956, in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late James Jr. and Sylvia (Minarik) Savilisky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Julie Come and Linda Savilisky. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Michele Savilisky; his brother-in-law, Mike Come; his 5 nieces and nephews, Megan Crusciel, Anthony (Morgan) Crusciel, Daniel Jr. (Bella) Savilisky, Michael Savilisky and Allison (Michael) Graw; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Chloe, Logan Haisley, Isla and another one on the way.

A member of St. Monica’s Church of St. Augustine Parish, James loved the outdoors. He especially loved fishing and camping.  He cherished taking trips to the casino with his mother prior to her passing 7 months ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Friends will be received on Monday, August 5th from 2-4 P.M. & 6-8 P.M. at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 6th at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Monica Church of St. Augustine Parish, 116 Thorndale Drive, Beaver Falls.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery and the Beaver County Special Unit will provide full military honors at the cemetery.

Gretchen M. Whipple (4/17/1961 — 7/29/2024)

Gretchen M. Whipple, 63, of Beaver, formerly of Freedom, passed away on July 29, 2024. She was born in Rochester on April 17, 1961, a daughter of the late Owen Alexander and Angela M. (Catalano) Whipple.

Gretchen died in the good graces and with all the sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Even in her late stage of confusion, she was pleased to repeat, “I have my faith”.

Gretchen had her Masters Degree in Art Therapy. She spent most of her career working with troubled children at the Mars Home for Youth, Pressley Ridge and later with deaf children and most recently with Cambridge Village.

Gretchen left colorful mementos of her art, crafts and ceramics with family and friends throughout her life. We all look forward to the Resurrection and reunion of all who unashamedly love God.

She is survived by her siblings, Brooks and his wife, Christine Whipple, Curtis Whipple, Douglas J. and his wife, Gabriella Whipple, and Eric F. Whipple; her nephews, Matthew and his wife, Jessica Whipple, Zachary Whipple, Patrick Whipple, and her niece, Lily Whipple; her grand-nieces, Beatrice and Mary-Eloise Whipple.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 6, 2024 at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Sts. Peter and Paul. (200 3rd St. Beaver PA 15009) Inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Freedom, immediately following the mass. Everyone please meet at the Church.

Karen Vodenichar Trautman ( November 8,1942 – July 30, 2024)

Karen Vodenichar Trautman, 81, of Brighton Twp, passed away on July 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born November 8, 1942 in Langeloth, PA she was a daughter of the late William H. and Kathryn (Giglotti) Young. Karen worked as a manager in shortage control for over 35 years at the former Kaufmans, and Macys. She loved family gatherings, playing cards, and gossiping.

Along with her parents Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph R. Trautman (2021); as well as her brother, Howard Young (2004)

Karen will be greatly missed by her son, David (Karen)Vodenichar; daughter, Dayna (Ed) Dierdorf; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela (Robert) Rogers; sister-in-law, Barbara Deane Young; grand-children, Chelsey (Ryan) Holt, Roni Vodenichar, Daniel (Morgan) Dierdorf, Kurt (Brooke Nicol) Dierdorf; great grandchildren, Alexis, Isabella and Noah Holt; and her faithful four-legged companion, Muffi.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Noll Funeral Home Inc. As per Karen’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A private Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA. Online condolences may be shared at www.nollfuneral.com.

Barbara Jean Starcher (Died – July 31, 2024)

Barbara Jean Starcher, 92 passed away at her residence in Vanport on July 31, 2024.

Born in East Liverpool, Ohio, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Marjorie Stephens, Jr.; her husbands, Alex Pruszenski and Warren O. Starcher; her son, Alex Pruszenski, Jr.; and her brother, Gordon Stephens.

Her memory will be kept alive by her surviving family members, who include her daughters, Janet Shields, Rose Anne Pruszenski, and Christine Woodward; her son, David Pruszenski; her stepsons, Keith and Larry Starcher; her brother, Victor Stephens; and her sisters, Mary Magolicco, Margie Morrison, Bonita Foltz, and Glenna Watkins. Barbara was also a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Barbara’s professional life was largely dedicated to the former Beaver County Geriatric Center, where she served in the dietary department until her retirement.

She was a member of the Baptist community and previously attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Barbara’s journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her influence will resonate for generations to come.

Graveside services will take place later in Emmett Chapel Cemetery, Rt 34, Jackson County, W V.
