CRIME SOLVERS OF BEAVREWARD OF $10,000 FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF ANYONE INVOLVED IN THE 2016 HOMICIDE OF SJAVANTE GILLIAM

(Beaver County, Pa.) Crime Solvers of Beaver County and the PA Crime Stoppers are offering a combined reward total of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the 2016 homicide of SJAVANTE GILLIAM.  On June 1, 2016, at 5:42am, officers of the Aliquippa Police Department responded to the 2100 block of McMinn Street for reports of a male subject down on sidewalk.  Upon their arrival officers found the victim deceased with a gunshot wound to the head.  The subject was identified as 28-year-old Sjavante Gilliam, a decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran and former star of the Aliquippa Quips football team. The Beaver County Detective Bureau was called to assist in the investigation and the area was searched. Gilliam’s vehicle, a 2016 Ford Taurus, bearing Pennsylvania Registration KBG8805, was located in the 2100 block of McMinn Street that morning.   Gilliam was last seen in the area of the Main Street Bar around 12:30 am approximately 5 hours prior to the discovery of his body. Questioning of the neighbors surrounding the scene by the investigators offered no immediate witnesses and the crime remains unsolved. Hoping to solve the case and bring justice for Gilliam’s family after six years, the Beaver County Crime Solvers will temporarily match the PA Crime Stoppers reward for any information leading to an arrest this week. The increased reward will be available from June 3-10, making those with information eligible for a $10,000 reward. After June 10, the Crime Solvers extra reward will expire and callers will only receive the $5,000 from the PA Crime Stoppers. Weekday listeners to Beaver County Radio are in for a unique treat this Wednesday. That’s because “The Entrepreneur Life” with Eric McKenna and Rocco Cozza will air at a special time, this Wednesday from 12:30 to 2:30 P.M.  In addition to traditional radio coverage on 1230 WBVP, 1460 WMBA, 99.3 F.M. and 95.7 F.M., the show is also features a live video stream on the radio stations’ Facebook Page and You Tube Channels. The program is being moved to a new time slot this week because of live coverage planned for the Beaver Falls Car Cruise, which is happening this Saturday, June 11, 2022.  “The Entrepreneur Life” will return to it’s normal Saturday morning  schedule of 10:30 A.M to 12:30 P.M. on June 18, 2022.

Suwinski gets 3 Hits, Pirates blank Diamondbacks 3-0

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Jack Suwinski followed his game-winning homer a day earlier with three hits to help the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-0. The rookie has at least one hit in his past five games, and was 7 for 12 this series. Pittsburgh took two of three from Arizona after a three-game sweep of the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Pirates starter Zach Thompson allowed four hits and two walks with four strikeouts. David Bednar had two strikeouts in a perfect ninth for his 10th save. Arizona’s Zac Gallen gave up two runs on five hits, and had three walks and four strikeouts in his first loss since Sept. 13, 2021.

‘I almost died,’ Fetterman says as Senate Campaign Heats Up

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania is recovering from a stroke and now says he almost died from it after ignoring warning signs for years and a doctor’s advice to take blood thinners. Lt. Gov. John Fetterman spoke in a statement released by his campaign Friday. He has remained out of public view as he recovers ahead of the fall general election in what is expected to be one of the nation’s premier Senate contests. Fetterman’s cardiologist also disclosed that he has cardiomyopathy. Fetterman easily won the Democratic nomination in a four-way race while in the hospital four days after the stroke.

New Brighton Police Arrest Rochester Man after Saturday Shooting in Borough

(New Brighton, Pa.) New Brighton Police Chief Ron Walton is reporting that New Brighton officers responded to  a dispute on Third Avenue in front of the Hovis Auto parts store on Saturday afternoon, June 4, 2022 at 1:30 PM. Chief Walton said that the dispute  started at the YMCA where  young adults were playing basketball. An allegation  that the men were firing handguns led to the arrest of Darius Goosby, 20 of Rochester. According to Chief Walton Goosby was charged with recklessly endangering another person, firearms violations, and felony drug charges , and was taken to the Beaver County Jail.
Beaver County Radio staff member Keith Walsh is reported Saturday that you could see officers taking a Goosby into custody after the incident. There was also a white Chevy SUV involved that you could see evidence markers showing the shell casings on the ground. Witnesses at the scene told Walsh there were three other men involved who ran off.

Aliquippa Man with DUI Related Suspended License Arrested For DUI During Traffic Stop in Aliquippa

(Aliquippa, Pa.) Pa State Police in Beaver are reporting that they conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Jeep being driven by 60-year-old Mark Chambers of Aliquippa in the area of Upland and Sharon Streets in Aliquippa at 8:15 PM on Saturday, June 04, 2022.
Troopers said that they stopped Chambers for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop it was learned that his license was suspended for DUI-related infractions. Chambers BAC during the traffic stop was found to be .02 percent and he was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI.
Charges are currently pending through District Court 36-03-04

Virginia Man Arrested on Drug Charges in Beaver Falls Traffic Stop

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) Pa State Police in Beaver are reporting that they conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 Toyota Camry being driven by 24-year-old Christopher Williams Jr. of Emporia Virginia on the area of 6th Ave and 16th Street in Beaver Falls on Monday, May 30, 2022 at 10:58 PM. Trooper said that during the traffic stop Williams was found to be in possession of four ounces of Marijuana. He was was placed under arrest and taken into custody for possession with intent to deliver. The release said that charges are pending through District court 36-03-04.

Woman Seriously Injured in Hit Run Accident in Hanover Twp.

(Hanover Township, Beaver County, Pa.) Pa State Police in Beaver are reporting that they responded to a call in the area of Park Road and US 30 in Hanover Township, Beaver County on Saturday at 4:45Pm for a report of a motor vehicle accident.
Troopers said via release upon arriving it was determined that the incident was a hit and run crash. Police are reporting that a vehicle possibly a green SUV or pick-up truck struck the female victims vehicle at the 9 o’clock position of her vehicle after crossing the lane designators. Troopers said the hit and run vehicle left the scene and is missing a tire and rim on the driver’ side of the vehicle.
The unnamed female victim received serious non life threating injuries.
State Police are asking anyone with information about the green SUV or Truck with front driver’s damage that is also missing a wheel to contact them at 724-773-7400

Reported Shooting in New Brighton in Front of Hovis Auto Parts

(New Brighton, Pa.) Beaver County Radio staff member Keith Walsh is reporting that au shooting took place early Saturday afternoon on Third Ave in New Brighton.

The shooting occurred in front of Hovis Auto Parts. Walsh said that you could see officers taking a man into custody. There was also a white Chevy SUV involved. Walsh said that you could see evidence markers showing the shell casings on the ground.

Officers on the scene told Walsh that no information would be released until an investigation was completed.

It’s not clear exactly what happened as witnesses told Walsh there were three other men involved who ran off.
