A woman was found dead of an apparent suicide at a hotel in Cranberry Township on Wednesday. Police believe she may be responsible for the death of her mother in Buffalo, New York. According to police, a 55-year-old woman was found dead in her room by hotel staff at the Red Roof Inn on Route 19. The woman checked into the hotel Tuesday night. During their investigation, they uncovered information that led them to believe she may have harmed her mother in Buffalo. Buffalo police went to the home she shared with her 85-year-old mother for a welfare check. At that time, they found the woman dead. Names of the two women have not been released, but police are investigating this as a murder-suicide.

Monaca City Council Meets To Discuss Plans To Install Solar Panels
At an hour-long meeting last night, members of Monaca City Council met to discuss plans to install solar panels at its reservoir. According to Beaver County Radio’s Lindsey Watson, who was at that meeting last night, the borough plans on installing close to 200 solar panels at its reservoir that could produce more than 200-thousand dollars worth of electricity over their lifespan. According to Borough Manager Mario Leon, the project has been in the works for several years, and could be up and running by April. The panels will cost about 150-thousand dollars to buy and install, half of which was paid for by a state grant.
Residents of Harmony Dwellings Housing Project in Beaver Falls Urged To Attend Safety Meeting
Residents of the Harmony Dwellings housing project in Beaver Falls are being asked to attend a very important meeting concerning the safety of their neighborhood. Beaver Falls Police Chief Charles Jones tells Beaver County Radio newsman Pat Septak that this will be an opportunity to help residents take back their community. The meeting takes place tomorrow morning at 11:00 sharp in the community center. Chief Jones will be there along with Beaver Falls Mayor George Quay and other community leaders. Turnpike Plans Pushed Back
Authorities are pushing back plans to close the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Breezewood and New Stanton as they ready efforts to retrieve a tractor-trailer rig that crashed in the weekend snow storm. The highway will now be closed roughly three hours tomorrow morning.
Pennsylvania Accused Of Violating Rights Of Mentally Ill
State human services officials are moving to settle a federal lawsuit accusing Pennsylvania of violating the rights of mentally ill defendants. Officials aren’t detailing the settlement to be submitted today. A lawsuit filed last October says the state subjects such defendants to long wait times in jails or hospitals.

86-Mile Stretch On Pennsylvania Turnpike To Close Wednesday Morning
An 86-mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed tomorrow, according to the Turnpike Commission. The stretch will be closed for three hours, starting at 9 a.m. Closures will be between the Breezewood (Exit #161) and the New Stanton (Exit #75) interchanges. The closure is due to a tractor trailer that is over an embankment in Bedford County near milepost 156 on the turnpike. The accident happened over the weekend and crews believe they can safely retrieve the tractor trailer from over the embankment. Traffic will be offed at the Breezewood Interchange and will be able to re-enter the Turnpike at the New Stanton Interchange.
Parts of Pennsylvania Still Cleaning Up From Weekend Snow Storm
Public and Catholic schools in Philadelphia are shut down again today as the cleanup continues from last weekend’s snow storm. The storm has been blamed for at least 42 deaths, including an 18-year-old pregnant Pottstown woman who died after shoveling snow.
