Man Identified In Violent Aliquippa Accident

A man was killed in an accident in Aliquippa early Sunday morning. The accident occurred at 7 a.m. on Route 51 near the West Aliquippa Bridge. The Beaver County coroner identified the victim as 38-year-old Carlos Hicks of Aliquippa. Hicks was the driver of the car. The coroner confirmed Hicks died from blunt force trauma. The manner of death is accidental. Aliquippa police are investigating the crash.

27-year-old Man Killed In Glen Osborne Crash

A 27-year-old man was killed in a crash on Ohio River Boulevard in Glen Osborne. The two-vehicle crash happened around 7:00 last night. The victim – identified as Scott Campbell – was taken to Sewickley Valley Hospital – where he died.  Investigators have not said what caused the crash.

15 Dogs, Several Birds Killed In New Castle Fire

Two people managed to escape a fire in New Castle, but more than a dozen family pets died. It happened early this morning in a home on Boyles Avenue. Police say the two-alarm fire started in the garage and quickly spread. The back end of the house sustained flame damage and the entire structure sustained smoke and water damage. Officials say all of their pets died in the fire.  A total of 15 dogs and several birds were killed.  The Red Cross is helping the people who lived inside the house.

Aliquippa Woman Takes Complaint About Neighbor’s Trash To City Council

AN ALIQUIPPA WOMAN WENT TO CITY COUNCIL TO COMPLAIN ABOUT A NEIGHBOR’S TRASH. ACCORDING TO BEAVER COUNTY RADIO NEWS CORRESPONDENT SANDY GIORDANO, SANDY GALTON OF BRODHEAD ROAD TOLD COUNCIL THAT HER NEIGHBOR WAS CITED BY THE CITY FOR HAVING DEBRIS IN FRONT OF HIS HOME…AND NOW HE’S MOVED IT TO THE SIDE…AND THERE ARE RODENTS, UNCUT GRASS AND STAGNANT WATER. THE CITY ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD RE-VISIT THE PROPERTY IN THE COMING WEEKS. GALTON HAS DECLINED TO COMMENT ON THE MATTER TO BEAVER COUNTY RADIO NEWS.

Aliquippa Erecting Reflecting Stop Signs In City

Reflective stop signs are now being erected throughout the city of Aliquippa. Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano reports that, according to city councilman Mark Delon, pothole patching and street sweeping are also being done in the city. Delon also says applicants for summer help may apply at the city building.

Plane Arrives In Pittsburgh After 7 Injured By “Severe Turbulence”

A Pittsburgh-bound flight from Punta Cana had to be diverted to Florida after four crew members and three passengers were injured from unexpected turbulence. Some passengers were tossed from their seats, and one flight attendant hit her head on the ceiling of the Allegiant Airlines flight on Thursday. The flight hit the turbulence over the Bahamas, and the plane was diverted to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Callers To Teleforum Show on Beaver County Radio Questioning Commissioners’ Lack Of Unity

Is Beaver County Commissioner Tony Amadio being excluded from the board of commissioners’ decision-making process? That’s what one caller suggested during this morning’s  “Ask the Commissioners” segment on Teleforum on Beaver County Radio. Commissioner Dan Camp told Mike Romigh that the commissioners may have discussions without the input of all three board members, but he says all three commissioners are involved in each decision that is made. Commissioner Tony Amadio disagreed, saying there are times that Republican board members Sandie Egley or Dan Camp would come into his office and inform him that a particular decision has been made. Despite this, Amadio says the three have been trying to work as a unified board of commissioners.
