Costa Rican Air Crash Kills 10 Americans

Costa Rican investigators are looking into what caused a charter aircraft to crash in woods in the country’s northwest soon after takeoff, killing 10 U-S citizens and two local crew members. A relative and a rabbi identified five of the dead as a family from a New York City suburb who were in Costa Rica on vacation. The pilot was a cousin of a former Costa Rican president.

Snow Continues To Fall In Erie

Snow continues to fall in Erie and surrounding areas that already have seen a record amount of snow over the past few days. The National Weather Service office in Cleveland says at least an additional 5 to 10 inches are expected thru Wednesday. The storm brought 34 inches of snow on Christmas Day. Another 24.5 inches fell by last night. That brings the total since December 23rd to more than 62.9 inches.

White Christmas Gives Way To Bitter Cold

A white Christmas for much of the Northeast and Midwest has given way to bitter cold until the New Year. National Weather Service meteorologist Amy Seeley says to expect colder than normal temperatures the rest of the week. Temperatures hovered around zero degrees in Chicago yesterday.
