Friendly Federal Credit Union Appoints New CEO

Friendly Federal Credit Union in Aliquippa has announced the appointment of Cindy Hladio as the new Chief Executive Officer. Hladio will be replacing Deanna Ross, who recently retired after a stellar forty seven year career with the credit Union. Hladio is a familiar face to many Friendly Federal members already, as she has been working there over forty years. In the meantime, Ross will continue to serve on a part time basis as a consultant.

AAA: Western PA Gas Prices Down Slightly; Nationwide Supply and Demand “Falling”

Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania are down by a penny over the week at $3.12 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.  On the week, gas prices are cheaper across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states.  However, compared to one month ago, gas prices fluctuate between two cents more expensive or cheaper across the region (Pennsylvania, +2 cents). The average price of unleaded self-serve gasoline in Beaver County is $3.16.

BEAVER COUNTY IS AMONG THREE PENNSYLVANIA COUNTIES TO RECEIVE A DESIGNATION THAT WILL HELP COMBAT DRUG TRAFFICKING AND ABUSE. OFFICIALS ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY THAT BEAVER, ALLEGHENY AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES WERE OFFICIALLY NAMED A HIGH INTENSITY DRUG TRAFFICKING AREA BY THE WHITE HOUSE’S OFFICE OF NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL POLICY. THE BEAVER COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE SAYS THE ONE-MILLION DOLLARS IN FEDERAL FUNDING EACH YEAR FOR LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES COULD MEAN MORE MONEY FOR PERSONNEL, EQUIPMENT OR EDUCATION FOR OFFICERS.

State Representative Candidates Terri Mitko and Darcelle Slappy to appear on Teleforum Tuesday September 25, 2018

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) Tune into Teleforum with Frank Sparks Tuesday September 25, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon as Frank starts a series of interviews of candidates who are running for Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the upcoming general election on November 6, 2018.

Frank will start out the series with Terri Mitko who is a Democrat running in the 15th Legislative District  against Republican Josh Kail. Terri will appear at 10:00 am followed by Darcelle Slappy a Green Party Candidate who will be challenging current PA 10th District Republican Representative Aaron Berstine. Darcelle will be Frank’s guest at 11am.
