Beaver County Treasurer’s Office To Process 2017 Tax Bills, Not Commissioners, As Previously Announced
The Beaver County Treasurer’s office will be sending out the 2017 tax bills to county residents after all. It was just over a week ago that the county commissioners announced that they would be sending out the tax bills this year, with the help of staff members, who were supposedly willing to volunteer their time and give up their vacation days to get the job done. But treasurer Connie Javens tells Beaver County Radio’s Pat Septak that she received an email from the law office yesterday afternoon stating that the tax bills and accompanying paper work would be returned to her office and that they would be processed there instead. Javens says that her office will get the job done, as she’s done the last 20 years, despite her office being short on staff this year. Javens say no explanation was given for the change. She began the work of processing the tax bills this morning. The tax bills include that 3.8 mill property tax increase that the commissioners approved and made official during their work session yesterday morning.

His body was found by someone who was driving home from work, according to police. Police have arrested 62-year-old William Aeschbacher. According to a criminal complaint, Aeschbacher admitted to striking a dark object, but told police he didn’t know what it was. He told investigators he circled back around and saw it was a person, but instead of stopping or calling police, he drove home and didn’t tell anyone. Aeschbacher is charged with accident involving death. Charges of tampering with evidence and obstruction are pending. He allegedly told police he was having physical and emotional issues regarding the crash, but didn’t tell anyone what happened. He’s due in court in January.
