A New Sewickley township man was taken to an area hospital Monday after he was involved in a crash that may have been caused by a medical issue. The Beaver County Times reports 49-year-old Ron Swedish crashed into a bridge impoundment Monday on Freedom-Crider Road. Swedish then crashed into a guardrail and his car was forced down into a creek off of the road. Firefighters had to remove the roof of Swedish’s car to pull him out of the wreckage. He was treated at the scene and then taken to an area hospital. Police believe Swedish may have had a medical emergency at the time of the accident.

Bids For YDC Property In Lawrence County Open This Afternoon
Bids for the former YDC property in Shenango Township will be opened at 3:00 this afternoon. According to the Sharon Herald, Shenango Township Supervisor chairman Frank Augustine on Monday confirmed that bids are due in the office of Pennsylvania Department of General Services in Harrisburg. He said Supervisor Al Burick III is expected to be in Harrisburg for the bid opening. Augustine said four companies, each considered a serious contender, have contacted the supervisors asking questions. The property has been vacant since February of 2013.
One Killed In Motorcycle-Car Crash In Conway
One person was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a car in Conway last night. It happened just past 9:30 on Route 65 near 13th Street. Emergency dispatchers say the northbound lanes of Route 65 were closed for some time overnight. Police are still investigating. Further details have not yet been released.

Shoppers were surprised to see a young deer wander into a supermarket in Chippewa Township. The deer headed for the refrigerated section in the Aldi in Chippewa. A customer managed to escort the deer to the front door and the animal returned to the woods.

Local Youth Football Organization Raises Money For Grieving Zelienople Family
A local football organization helped a family in its community Sunday. The Seneca Valley Junior Football Association sponsored a spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the family of Timothy McGonigal of Zelienople. McGonigal died in an ATV crash in July, leaving behind his wife and two teenage sons. Organizers say all of the profits are going to the McGonigal family. In addition to the donation price of the dinner, people gave additional monetary donations. Organizers say one family even offered a scholarship to one of the sons. The dinner raised more than $1,000.

Rochester Community Carol Sing and Light Up Night Broadcast, December 3, 2017
Beaver County Radio did a live broadcast on Sunday December 3, 2017 from the 1st Annual Rochester Community Carol Sing and Light up Night from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.. Beaver County Radio’s Frank Sparks and Ed Hermick joined attendees from all over Western Pennsylvania who came out to celebrate the Holiday Season. The Beaver High School Color Guard presented the colors to get the event started followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. Santa Claus then arrived via a fire truck since there is no snow for his sleigh. Santa also brought one of his elves. There was a live reading of the Night Before Christmas that was broadcast live on Beaver County Radio airways. The Beaver Valley Choral Society then sung live and a replay of the performance will be played during the Beaver County Radio’s presentation of Christmas Music around the clock on Christmas Day. That was all followed by a Chorus Concert by the Rochester Kindergarten Students and the whole night finished with a lighting of the lights . 2017 Christmas on Merchant Broadcast December 2, 2017
Beaver County Radio did a live broadcast from Christmas on Merchant Street in Ambridge on Saturday December 2, 2017. Frank Sparks and Ed Hermick were there for all of the fun. Children told Ed Hermick what they wanted for Christmas and wven Beaver County Commission Chairwoman Sandie Egley stopped by to chat. The Beaver County Radio prize van was on hand giving out prizes to all the winners who spun the prize wheel.
