Oniike travelled the 14 hours to Pittsburgh International Airport on Friday, and in ceremony that was a “once in a lifetime event” was held Saturday afternoon at Air Heritage. The silk flag, with the sun in the middle, and writings from Koga’s nephew’s family, was tattered , but it contained family members names , he carried it everywhere so he could feel his family was with him for his safe return He was the 9th of 10 children in the family It took 72 years and a news broadcast to return the flag., The ceremony, and luncheon was attended by approximately 75 persons. Oniike, speaking to the group through an interpreter said , “I pray for peace in the world and that no war will occur between the United States and Japan again. Kester was scheduled to take him on a tour of Pittsburgh yesterday. He returns to Japan today with his photographer/interpreter.

Today Is Lymphedema Awareness Day
Today is Lymphedema Awareness Day, according to Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano. Lymphedema is a chronic swelling that occurs when lymph nodes are removed or damaged during cancer surgery, or from an injury’. Medicare doesn’t’ cover the cost of compression hose or or sleeves to help treat the issues that are arise from Lymphedema. A pump to redirect protein rich fluid is also very costly There are treatments available from physical therapists if recommended by the patients doctors. Bills have been introduced in Congress, with the hope of them passing so that Social Security and medicare cover the cost of the necessary. This entire month is dedicated to Lymphedema Awareness.

(Beaver County. PA) Two more guests hosts will try their hand at hosting the popular weekday talk show “Teleforum” on Beaver County Radio. Later today, Eric Mckenna will anchor the show and on Tuesday, Scott Tady will put on the headphones and take a call or two from behind the microphone.

Keselowski wins in Atlanta
Brad Keselowski overcame a loose wheel issue and held off Kyle Larson late for the victory in the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 on Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the second race of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.
Keselowski passed Larson with seven laps to go and held off the hard-charging Larson for the win. The win is Keselowski’s first at Atlanta and the 22nd of his career. The Team Penske driver led 21 laps on the day.
The dominance of Harvick was the story for much of the day as he led 292 of the first 311 laps of the 325-lap race. He won both stages and earned two playoff bonus points.
Keselowski has now clinched his spot in this years chase , NASCAR’s version of the play-offs later this year. The victory also gave Keselowski five bonus points in the chase.

Aliquippa Woman To Be Honored Tonight By Franklin Center
Aliquippa resident Bernice(Medade)Mason will be honored Friday evening by Franklin Center at an event entitled:AMONG THE LEGENDS;’AN EVENING WITH THE ICONS OF BLACK HISTORY”, according to Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano. MC for the event is Betty Asche Douglas, artist, musician, and educator from Rochester. CCBC executive v.p., and provost Dr. Roger Davis will be introduced, , according to Valerie Mcelvey. Mrs. mason graduated from Aliquippa high School in 1949, attended and graduated college in Hampton, Va, where she earned a degree in elementary education. She taught in Hampton and Richmond while there. Later she taught in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Coming back to Aliquippa she taught GED and Badsic Education classes at CCBC for 5 years. She served as a substitute teacher at ther alma mater, and even taught band. she added. Later, she became a full time prevention specialist with the Beaver County Prevention Project , retiring in 1992. She served on the B.F. Jones memorial Library Board , and founded medade Educational consultants. she commented: in a phone interview: “I used to be very busy in the community. She suffered a stroke in 2009. Mrs. Mason said.
