Beaver County Humane Society Is Over-populated With Kittens

Due to the over-population of kittens at the Beaver County Humane Society, the shelter is running specials all this week in an attempt to adopt them out. State Police Planning DUI Checkpoints For Beaver County In Coming Weeks

A sobriety checkpoint will be conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police within Beaver County in the upcoming weeks. State police say motorists that encounter the checkpoint will be stopped briefly when there is an indication that a driver has consumed alcohol or controlled substances, or committed any other violation of the law, the occupants may be detained for further investigation. Motorists are advised to be aware of their surroundings and to have their license, registrations and insurance cards readily available. Motorists are also encouraged to drive sober or get a designated driver, along with using their seat belts. Primary emphasis will be on driving under the influence violations, but all laws will be enforced. Motorists are also reminded of the Steer Clear Law which states that motorists must move over to lane furthest away from stopped emergency vehicles and/or slow down if it is not possible to move over.

Beaver Falls Wave Pool Looks To, Once Again, Make a Splash

With temperatures skyrocketing well into the 90s, heat isn’t the only thing ‘waving’ through the area. The Beaver Falls Wave Pool, closed for nearly two decades now, may soon start its waving again, through the work of two local men. Rape Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Freedom Man

A rape investigation led police to find that a Freedom man took inappropriate and nude photos of residents at a personal-care facility. According to police, 24 year old Zachary L. Dinell was charged June 4 with the sexual assault of an unconscious woman. Police said officers investigating the assault searched Dinell’s phone and found several saved photos that were “obscene and pornographic.” Dinell was charged Friday by New Brighton Area police with 34 counts of invasion of privacy related to all six of the victims and seven counts of possession of pornography of a child, which reflect photos taken of the 14-year-old juvenile. The investigation is continuing.
