Power Restored To Atlanta Airport
While power has been restored to the world’s busiest airport in Atlanta, the travel woes will linger for days. Thousands of people are stranded this morning at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where more than one thousand flights were grounded just days before the start of the Christmas travel rush. A sudden power outage caused by a fire in an underground electrical facility brought the airport to a standstill early Sunday afternoon.
Senator McCain Back Home
The head of neuro-oncology at the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute reports that Arizona senator John McCain has been given treatment at a military hospital for a viral infection and is responding positively to ongoing treatment for brain cancer. Dr. Mark Gilbert’s office says the 81 year old McCain has returned to his home state and will undergo physical therapy and rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic facility there.
George Washington Is Up A Creek
George Washington and his troops might not be able to make their annual Christmas Day trip across the Delaware River between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. That’s because low water levels make it impossible for re-enactors to use their wooden boats. Organizers says a pretty significant amount of precipitation must fall to raise water levels in time, adding that where and when any snow or rain occurs are also important factors.

UPDATE: Authorities Release New Details Into Murder-Suicide At Penn State Beaver Campus
Authorities are now saying that a man who shot and killed his estranged wife and then himself…. had lured her outside her job at the Penn State Beaver campus by saying he had Christmas presents for their children. Beaver County Coroner David Gabauer says 49-year-old Lesli Kelly died of multiple gunshot wounds in the attack Wednesday just before 4 p.m. near the Penn State Beaver dining hall. Gabauer says 52-year-old William Kelly died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The program featured The Sidewinder Band and Beaver County Radios News Director Pat Septak performing a set list of Christmas songs together and they each performed a set list of Christmas songs on their own. Beaver County Radio’s host of Yankee Trader Diane Brosius also performed a set list of holiday songs for the listeners.
