(Allegheny County, PA) A 19-year-old and several juveniles are facing charges in connection with a year-long investigation into stolen guns. According to sources, law enforcement arrested seven juveniles yesterday, and the Allegheny County Police Department arrested 19-year-old Chalais Ramey, of Pittsburgh, in connection with multiple crimes. A criminal complaint states that police believe Ramey and the juveniles conspired to commit burglaries and steal guns to resell them on the street. Multiple local and federal law enforcement agencies, which included the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, investigated this along with Allegheny County police.  A video obtained by KDKA shows a stolen vehicle pulled up to Allegheny Arms and Gun Works in Bethel Park at 4:30 a.m. on January 13th, 2025, and a person shoots a gun at the front window. Once they were inside, the suspects take all of 45 seconds and escape with 56 guns and an armful of ammunition. Court paperwork expresses that before the Allegheny Arms incident, Ramey allegedly took part in a burglary of Iron City R.C. Hobbies in West Mifflin the same day, even though Legion Arms was the target, as the suspects went to the wrong part of the building complex that houses both businesses. Court paperwork also states that Ramey is tied to a break-in on January 19th, 2025, near Youngstown, Ohio as police express that four suspects shot their way into Expert Outfitters Gun Shop and stole 23 guns. Multiple firearms from both gun shops were recovered during the investigation and investigators used seized cell phone data, physical evidence, video surveillance and other measures to solve the crimes. There are also other alleged crimes with this operation, including vehicles that were stolen. A press conference today is expected to shed more light on the investigation.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Penn State hockey star Gavin McKenna, a freshman center and the presumptive top pick in this summer’s NHL draft, has been charged with felony assault following an incident on Jan. 31.

McKenna, 18, struck a 21-year-old male in the face during the altercation, according to the incident report. The male sustained multiple facial fractures that required surgery. McKenna was also charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, according to court documents. His representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment by The Associated Press.

McKenna was arraigned and released on $20,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 11.

The incident happened in the hours after Penn State lost to No. 2 Michigan State in an outdoor game at Beaver Stadium, home of the Nittany Lions football team.

McKenna, who is from Whitehorse, Yukon, has 11 goals and 21 assists in 24 games this season for the Nittany Lions. He decided to play for Penn State after the NCAA lifted its ban on Canadian Hockey League players competing at the Division I level.

A name, image and likeness deal with the Nittany Lions helped sway McKenna to join a program that has been at the Division I level for less than 15 years.

McKenna recently had four goals and six assists at the World Junior Championships while helping Canada to a bronze medal.
