Man Sentenced For Possessing Largest Collection Of Child Porn In State History
A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 100 years in prison for what authorities say was the largest collection of child pornography state law enforcement officials have seen. Lawrence Jamieson was sentenced Monday in federal court after pleading guilty in September 2017 to sex crimes and child pornography charges. Authorities say the 59-year-old Jamieson had more than 14.4 million images and videos of children and infants being sexually abused. Jamieson’s stash of images collected over 15 years was discovered when he was arrested on charges he and an accomplice tried to manipulate an underage girl with learning disabilities into performing sex acts on both men. Prosecutors say they filmed and distributed footage of those acts.Prosecutors called Jamieson’s collection “some of the most demented images imaginable.”

Wolf’s administration says school officials requested a stronger police presence.
Troopers are the primary police force in nearly 1,300 municipalities.

State Rep. Schemel Proposes Alternative Method To Address Child Sex Abuse
Governor Tom Wolf is pushing state lawmakers to pass several bills recommended by a grand jury that investigated child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. Current PA law doesn’t allow a victim to sue once they turn 30-years-old. A Berks County state representative is suggesting opening a two-year window in which older victims could sue abusers as well as institutions. State Rep. Paul Schemel (R-Franklin) unveiled a proposal to provide an alternative to civil lawsuits when addressing child sex abuse cases. Schemel’s proposal would create a “Truth and Restoration Commission” that would receive testimony from victims and the institutions who may have harbored those responsible for the abuse. Victims would be financially compensated by the commission from a pool of funds supported by those institutions…
