2017 Ambridge Spring Home and Garden Show

Beaver County Radio did a live ‘broadcast from the 2017 Ambridge Spring Home and Garden Show at the Ambridge Do It Best Home Center in Ambridge on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Frank Sparks and Eric Mc Kenna interviewed many of the vendors and participants during the broadcast. There were many activities for the entire family and of course plenty of everyone’s favorite food. This was just one of the many great things the Ambridge Regional Chamber of Commerce has planned for the new up and coming Ambridge this year. Mayor Rudy Giuliani Accepts ‘Hance’ Award From St. Barnabas In Cranberry Township

MAYOR RUDY GIULIANI WAS IN CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP LAST NIGHT. GIULIANI, WHO BECAME KNOWN AS “AMERICA’S MAYOR” FOR HIS LEADERSHIP AS THE MAYOR OF NEW YORK DURING 9-11, WAS THE FEATURED SPEAKER AND RECIPIENT OF THE HANCE AWARD, AS ST. BARNABAS HEALTH SYSTEM CELEBRATED ITS 117TH FOUNDER’S DAY. THE FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION IS AN ANNUAL FUNDRAISING DINNER FOR ST. BARNABAS CHARITIES AND SUPPORTS THE FREE CARE FUND, WHICH PROVIDES MORE THAN 7-MILLION DOLLARS IN CARE ANNUALLY. BEAVER COUNTY RADIO NEWS WAS AT GIULIANI’S PRESS CONFERENCE LAST NIGHT…DURING WHICH GIULIANI SAID IT WAS AN HONOR TO RECEIVE THE AWARD AND HAD HIGH PRAISE FOR ST. BARNABAS FOR CREATING A FUND THAT HELPS PEOPLE WHO CAN’T PAY…AND FOR NOT TURNING ANYONE AWAY. GIULIANI ALSO HAD HIGH PRAISE FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP. WHEN ASKED TO GIVE THE PRESIDENT A LETTER GRADE AFTER HIS FIRST 100 DAYS IN OFFICE, GIULIANI SAID HE’D GIVE HIM AN A-PLUS, BECAUSE HE DELIVERED OR AT LEAST ATTEMPTED TO DELIVER ON ALL OF HIS CAMPAIGN PROMISES.

Lincoln Park Students Excited Over New Series of Shows For 2017-18 Season

On April 28, the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center made an announcement about their new series of shows coming up next season, beginning on October 6th with Mary Poppins.

Student reception was highly positive during the announcement, and Beaver County Radio spoke to a few students about the new series. Jordan Walker announced her joy for the new shows coming to Lincoln Park, because of the experience it will bring for actors and audience alike…

Now you’d think that doing 8 different shows in the short amount of time would be hectic and difficult for the actors involved. But according to Noah Plinick, the process is actually quick and smooth…

Lincoln Park Announces 2017-18 Subscription Series of Shows

The Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center has announced “Dream Bigger”, their 2017-18 Highmark Subscription Series of shows. A total of 8 shows were announced yesterday, including:

Mary Poppins
James & The Giant Peach Jr.
It’s A Wonderful Life
The Nutcracker
The Great Gatsby
Sleeping Beauty
Big Fish
Ragtime

The announcement was made in front of a full theater of students, media and citizens; an announcement which included a couple of live performances from student actors. Former Beaver County Radio alum Chris Shovlin announced the new shows one by one, while Justin Fortunato, the Artistic Producing Director of the Arts Center, happily announced the sponsorship by Highmark for the upcoming year.
