HARMONSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a man died following a hunting accident in the western Pennsylvania town of Harmonsburg over the weekend. State police in Meadville say 19-year-old Jacob Smith of Linesville was hunting with friends in Summit Township. The Crawford County coroner said Smith was removing items from a hunting sled when his shotgun accidentally went off shortly before 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Coroner Scott Schell told the Meadville Tribune that shotgun pellets struck Smith in the abdomen.
WILKINSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Police in Allegheny County believe a backseat passenger shot and killed a man and woman who were sitting in a car. Police say officers found the woman lying in a street with multiple gunshot wounds in Wilkinsburg just after 9 p.m. Sunday. They also noticed a car nearby, with its door open. A man was found inside with multiple gunshot wounds. Police believe they were sitting in the car when the backseat passenger shot the man. The woman tried to escape.
