A warrant is out for a Lawrence County woman who’s accused of breaking into a home while the residents were at church. Neshannock Township police say Marie Beahr burglarized the home on Nesbitt Road on Easter Sunday, making off with credit cards and other items. Beahr was identified from store video showing her using the stolen cards.

Beaver Borough Sees Spike In Overdose Calls Last Week
Officials in Beaver say they had a spike in overdose calls last week. Beaver’s chief of police tells the Beaver County Times they had five drug overdoses within a few days and a few blocks of each other in Beaver last week. Officials say the borough typically averages one per week. In four of those calls, first responders were able to save the person using Narcan. Police think a bad batch of fentanyl came through the borough.
IRS Files Lien Against Beaver County
The I-R-S- has filed a lien against Beaver County for unpaid payroll taxes. The county reportedly has nearly 400-thousand dollars in delinquent payroll taxes. The lien was filed at the prothonotary’s office on April 16th, to the commissioners’ surprise, and according to the Beaver County Times, is believed to be predominantly related to payroll taxes from 2018.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders says felons such as the Boston Marathon bomber and people convicted of sexual assault should be able to vote while in prison. The Vermont senator is seeking the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination and was asked about voting rights for felons at a CNN town hall in New Hampshire on Monday. Sanders says the right to vote “is inherent to our democracy” and should apply “even for terrible people.”

There appeared to be a clear divide between the court’s liberal and conservative justices in arguments Tuesday in a case that could affect how many seats states have in the House of Representatives and their share of federal dollars over the next 10 years.
Largest Firefighters Union Preparing To Endorse Biden For President
WASHINGTON (AP) — The largest firefighters union is preparing this week to endorse Joe Biden’s expected bid for the presidency. The former vice president is the most high profile Democratic contender who has not yet jumped in the crowded primary. He is expected to launch a campaign this week. Harold Schaitberger, general president of the International Association of Fire Fighters, says the union’s board is meeting this week to vote on an endorsement. They expect to formally announce the decision next week.
16-Year-Old Girl Shot In The Face By Teen Playing With A Gun In North Braddock
NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a Pennsylvania teenager who was playing with a gun shot a 16-year-old girl in the face. The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. Monday in a North Braddock apartment. Authorities say a 16-year-old boy brought the gun to the apartment and was “horseplaying” with it when it discharged. The wounded girl remains hospitalized. But her name and further details on her condition have not been disclosed. No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

Gas Prices A Penny Cheaper This Week
According to this week’s Triple-A East Central Gas price report, the average price of gasoline across Western Pennsylvania is a penny cheaper this week at $3.03 per gallon. The price is lower in Beaver at 3.00 a gallon. A year ago prices in Western Pennsylvania averaged 2.97 a gallon.
