WASHINGTON (AP) — Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren says the House should begin impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. The Democratic presidential candidate reiterated on Tuesday her call for impeachment on the Senate floor hours after Majority Leader Mitch McConnell declared “case closed” on the Russia probe and potential obstruction by Trump. Holding a copy of Mueller’s report, Warren responded to McConnell that “wishing won’t make it so,” adding, “It’s there in black and white.”

Georgia’s Republican Governor Signs ‘Heartbeat’ Bill Into Law
ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp has signed legislation banning abortions once a fetal heartbeat can be detected. That can be as early as six weeks, before many women know they’re pregnant. The signing Tuesday follows weeks of protests at the state Capitol. ACLU of Georgia legal director Sean Young said the new law is unconstitutional and they’ll challenge it in court, where anti-abortion activists are hoping conservative judges will reverse abortion rights.
Cellphone Video Taken During Confrontational Traffic Stop In Texas With State Trooper Surfaces Publicly For First Time
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Cellphone video Sandra Bland took during a confrontational 2015 traffic stop in Texas with a state trooper has surfaced publicly for the first time. The 39-second clip shows the black Chicago-area woman’s perspective as the white trooper draws a stun gun and orders her out of her car. The 28-year-old Bland was found hanging in her jail cell outside Houston three days after her arrest. Her death became a flashpoint in the debate over the treatment of black people by police.

Family Escapes Early Morning House Fire In Independence Township
Crews were called to the scene of an early morning house fire in Independence Township this morning. The fire was reported shortly before 3:45 a.m. along Thompson Hill Road. A family that was inside the house managed to get out safely. No injuries reported. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Gas Prices Up A Penny In Western PA, Says AAA
According to this week’s Triple-A East Central Gas Price Report gas prices are up a penny in Western Pennsylvania at 3.10 a gallon. Gasoline stocks declined by about a half a million barrels in the Energy Information Administration’s latest report. The national average is at 2.89 a gallon. Prices a year ago in Western Pennsylvania were at 3.05 a gallon.
Beaver County Pilot In First Stage Of Flight Around The World
A Beaver County pilot is in the first stage of a flight around the world. Ross Edmonson took off yesterday from the Zelienople Municipal Airport on a 40-thousand-mile flight in a single-engine aircraft named Planey McPlaneface. His eleven-month journey will double as a fundraiser for African Promise, a group that works to improve schools in Kenya.
Philadelphia Commission On Human Relations Launches Probe Into Event Involving Muslim Children
UNDATED (AP) — A Philadelphia city commission says it’s investigating an event last month at which Muslim children were captured on video speaking in Arabic about beheadings and the liberation of one of Jerusalem’s most sensitive holy sites. The Commission on Human Relations confirmed Monday that it’s launched a probe into the event at the Muslim American Society’s Philadelphia chapter. The video uploaded to the chapter’s Facebook page shows two girls reading from a prepared text.
Pennsylvania Democratic State Lawmaker Called On To Apologize For Berating Abortion Protester
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Democratic state lawmaker is drawing criticism for filming himself berating a woman demonstrator outside an abortion clinic in Philadelphia, calling her an “old white lady” and her protest “grotesque.” State Rep. Brian Sims posted the eight-minute-plus video on social media. It shows him peppering the woman with questions and criticism. In response the woman says little but takes out her rosary and clutches it. A Pennsylvania Republican leader is calling for the lawmaker to apologize.
