State Senate Moves Along Bill to Raise Minimum Age in PA to Purchase Tobacco
The state Senate is moving along legislation that would raise the minimum age in Pennsylvania to purchase tobacco and vaping products to 21. Approved by a 43-to-six margin, the bill is now on its way to the House for consideration. If signed into law as currently written, the legislation would also create new penalties for tobacco use in schools and allow schools to upgrade their on-grounds tobacco use policies.

Governor Tom Wolf Now Says He’s In Favor of Legalizing Pot
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf says he is now in favor of legalizing marijuana for recreational use and is asking lawmakers to consider it. Wolf’s announcement Wednesday advances his position from December. Back then he signaled he was open to taking a look at it as it gathered popularity and momentum, particularly in bordering states. Before last winter, he had dismissed the idea.
