NEW YORK (AP) — An appeals court has temporarily blocked the release of President Donald Trump’s tax returns to New York State investigators. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan Monday granted the delay requested by Trump’s lawyers. It came as Trump tweeted that “Radical Left Democrats” were pushing local and state “Democrat prosecutors to go get President Trump.”

A Republican who last week announced that he is running for U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb’s seat next year is on probation in North Carolina for fraudulently taking money from farmers to start a cooperative. 46 year old Brian Thomsen an Ingram resident, is also not registered to vote in Pennsylvania. Thomsen was placed on 24 months of probation on Dec. 3, 2018, after pleading to multiple charges of larceny and cheat-property/services in Chatham County District Court, according to online records. Thomsen claims the charges were politically motivated.
An Evans City man was killed in two vehicle accident Friday morning in Forward Township. According to State Police 44 year old Robert Hauserman was operating a motorcycle on Marbuger Road when he struck a Forward Township Municipal truck that was stopped performing road maintenance. Hauserman was pronounced dead at UPMC Passavant Hospital.
Investigators say a New Galilee man died of natural causes prior to a crash in Big Beaver last week. Anthony Rockar was found in his vehicle after the one-vehicle crash on Route 168 near Larchwood Drive Thursday morning. The coroner hasn’t given more details as to what were the natural causes.

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. (AP) — A judge has ordered the defense to turn over to prosecutors some background material on a man charged in the shooting death of a western Pennsylvania police officer almost two years ago. The Tribune-Review reports that defense attorneys had argued that their case would be damaged if prosecutors were given the report detailing reasons why the life of 31-year-old Rahmael Sal Holt should be spared should be convicted in the November 2017 slaying of New Kensington officer Brian Shaw.
More details are expected to emerge today from a shooting in Beaver Falls. Police say one person was hospitalized last night after being shot in the chest on Fifth Avenue. There’s no word yet on the victim’s condition nor any arrests.
