Sheetz Making Changes In Response to Coronavirus Pandemic
Sheetz customers will see some changes in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The Altoona-based gas station chain says it’s suspending its self-serve coffee, beverage and bakery offerings to help slow the spread of COVID-19. People who want soft drinks, coffee or other self-serve items can get them by ordering from the touch-screen kiosks.
Giant Eagle Making Changes in How You Shop at Its Grocery Stores
Some new changes are being implemented at Giant Eagle grocery stores in wake of the coronavirus outbreak. First… Giant Eagle says customers should not bring reusable bags to stores, as a precautionary measure to help ensure sanitary conditions amid the coronavirus pandemic. Plexiglass dividers are also being installed at checkouts and customer service areas in Giant Eagle and Market District grocery stores, pharmacies and GetGo convenience stores. Shoppers will also see new signs and floor indicators to let them know the appropriate social distance at checkout lanes.

Two People Arrested by New Castle City Police Following Shooting
Two people were arrested by New Castle City Police following a shooting Sunday night on Frank Avenue in New Castle. According to police, 35 year old Michael Ortiz and 23 year old Alexis Williams, both face a number of charges. During the investigation police found 40 pounds of marijuana a stolen hand gun along with about five thousand dollars in cash.
Man Found Fatally Shot in Car Parked Near New Castle Apartment Building
NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a man has been found shot to death inside a car parked near a Lawrence County apartment building. The shooting in New Castle occurred around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, but a motive for the slaying was not immediately known. The victim’s name and further details on his injuries were not disclosed. The shooting occurred near the McGrath Manor apartment building, but it wasn’t immediately known if that’s where the victim lived. No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

AAA: Pennsylvania Gas Prices Continue to Plunge; Crude Hits 18-Year Low
Pennsylvania gas prices continue to plunge as crude oil prices hit an 18-year low. After falling by 12 cents last week, the average price of gasoline across Western Pennsylvania is another 13 cents cheaper this week at $2.36 per gallon.
