HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – Pennsylvania’s governor says the state has confirmed its first 2 coronavirus cases. Gov. Tom Wolf says the state’s first two cases of coronavirus have been identified, one in Delaware County and one in Wayne County. The two people are quarantined in their homes, Wolf said. No other information on the people affected has been released. Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine says the cases are not related to a case that closed schools in Bucks County. Classes were cancelled Friday at five schools because some members of its school community were exposed to a separate confirmed case of COVID-19.

Roberts Chides Schumer for ‘Dangerous’ Remarks on 2 Justices
Çhief Justice John Roberts is criticizing as “inappropriate” and “dangerous” comments Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer made about Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh. Roberts was responding to Schumer’s remarks at a rally outside the court while a high-profile abortion case was being argued inside. A video of that rally shows Schumer saying, “You will not know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” and naming the two Supreme Court appointees of President Donald Trump. A spokesman says Schumer was referring to “the political price Senate Republicans will pay.”
Beaver County Commissioners: Coronavirus Will Probably Make Its Way Here
Beaver County has begun preparing for a possible outbreak of Coronavirus. While there have been no confirmed cases in Pennsylvania, Commissioner Jack Manning said on Ask the Commissioners this morning…that the county is making preparations should the coronavirus reach here:
Manning is urging visitors and employees that if they’re sick…stay home:
Commissioner Tony Amadio also stressed the important of washing your hands:
Another good piece of advice, according to Amadio, is to sneeze into your arm, not into your hands…
Both Amadio and Manning stressed the importance of taking common sense precautions to protect yourself…
Both Amadio and Manning believe it’s not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’ the coronavirus hits Beaver County…
The county is installing additional hand sanitizer dispensers and posting signs throughout the Beaver County Courthouse reminding employees and visitors to wash their hands.
Elizabeth Warren Ends 2020 Presidential Bid, Not Endorsing Anyone Yet
WASHINGTON (AP) — Elizabeth Warren has ended her Democratic presidential bid after a disappointing finish in Super Tuesday states. The Massachusetts senator told supporters Thursday she refuses to “let disappointment blind” her. Warren has spoken to front-runners Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden but said she will wait to make a decision on whom to endorse. Warren’s campaign had the markers of success: robust poll numbers, impressive fundraising and a national organization. But she was squeezed out by Sanders, who had an immovable base of voters she needed to advance. In the end, Warren didn’t even win her home state, finishing third behind Biden and Sanders.
Trump Store Opens in Heart of Contested Philadelphia Suburbs
BENSALEM, Pa. (AP) — A shop selling President Donald Trump-themed merchandise in a strip mall in suburban Philadelphia has emerged as a magnet for the president’s backers and a reflection of Pennsylvania’s status as a political battleground this year. The Trump Store in Bensalem sells hats, T-shirts, mugs, water bottles and even an inflatable Trump-shaped innertube. On a recent weekday afternoon, it did steady business over about three hours, with two to three customers continually streaming in and out. Bensalem, in Bucks County, voted for the Democrat in the last two presidential elections despite Republicans’ cutting into Democrats’ margins. Trump won Pennsylvania over Hillary Clinton by less than 1 percentage point in 2012.
Pennsylvania Senate Hides Some Details in Expense Records
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Two news organizations are reporting that the Pennsylvania Senate is hiding thousands of detailed explanations about its expenses from official records it provided under public records requests. The Caucus and Spotlight PA news organizations reported that Senate officials edited out the explanations, making it appear as though they didn’t exist. Lawyers who specialize in public records access cases in Pennsylvania say public officials aren’t allowed to erase parts of public records. They say public officials must justify why they choose to redact or not release certain pieces of information. Pennsylvania’s Legislature is one of the nation’s largest and most expensive.
Pennsylvania State Police Loosens Ban on Trooper Arm Tattoos
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The Pennsylvania State Police will now let troopers have tattoos on their arms, but those who do will have to wear long-sleeved uniform shirts that conceal them when they’re on duty. In a statement, Col. Robert Evanchick, the state police commissioner, said Wednesday that the agency hopes the new policy will widen its field of potential recruits. Before Wednesday’s announcement, troopers could have tattoos, as long as they weren’t visible to the public. Troopers still may not have tattoos that are above their neckline or below their wrist. Tattoos that could be seen as hateful or discriminatory are prohibited.
