Michael Kurtis Wilson (1958-2026)

Michael Kurtis Wilson, 67, of Daugherty Township, passed away in Allegheny General Hospital on February 25th, 2026 after an extended illness. He was born on October 17th, 1958, the son of Mary Kay (Zahorsky) Wilson and Floyd Wilson.

Michael is survived by his wife, Lisa and his beloved son, Dr. Brandon Wilson and his spouse Halie Tucci of Sharon, Vermont, three sisters and a brother-in-law: Kim Mellman of Redondo Beach, California, Kathy and David Trone of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Kaprice Williamson of Westland, Michigan, his nieces and nephews: Ron Trone, Aaron Mellman, Kelsey Backman, Kirsten Mellman and Konnor Robinson and many extended family members. He will be very deeply missed by all his family.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28th from 1-5 p.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc., 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, who was in charge of his arrangements. Interment will be private.

James Barrie “Jim” Hooley (1944-2026)

James Barrie “Jim” Hooley, 81, of Midland, passed away on February 20th, 2026.

He was born in Rochester on June 15th, 1944, the son of the late James Patrick and Caroline Hooley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings. He is survived by his family and friends including his sons: Timothy (Donann) Hooley, Steven Hooley, Michael Hooley, and Kevin (Amanda) Hooley; as well as his former spouse, Barbara Hooley; grandchildren, Austin, Justin, Jenna, and Alexa Hooley, Steven “Cayne” Hooley, Damien and Dominic Hooley; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

James was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, having proudly wore his black and gold.

William B. Miller (1936-2026)

William B. Miller, 89, of Wampum, passed away on February 23rd, 2026, at the Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. He was born in Rochester on April 6th, 1936, a son of the late Clarence and Ethel Miller. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary K. (Douds) Miller; one brother; and four sisters. He is survived by his two nephews, Henry and Tom.

William served his country in the United States Army and his community as a dedicated foreman for the New Brighton Borough for 46 years. After a long and steady career, he retired with the respect and gratitude of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his hard work, quiet strength, and faithful service.

(Indianapolis, IN) Former Penn State quarterback Drew Allar is expected to throw this week at the NFL’s annual scouting combine. ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported late on Tuesday that Allar will throw at the combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana this week. Allar, who was listed on Tuesday by ESPN’s Jordan Reid as the number 6 quarterback in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, underwent surgery on October 15th, 2025 after suffering a broken left ankle during Penn State’s game against Northwestern in Happy Valley on October 11th, 2025.

(Washington County, PA) Pennsylvania State Police in Pittsburgh reported via release yesterday that twenty-six-year-old Jacob Jancart of Weirton, West Virginia was charged after causing a single-vehicle crash in Washington County yesterday morning. At 8:35 a.m., Jancart was traveling east on Clinton Frankfort Road and lost control while negotiating a left curve after hitting a utility pole support wire and a water line meter housing in front of a residence. The vehicle of Jancart rested in the front yard of the residence. There were no reported injuries.

This event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Postal Employee Development Center, which is located at 1001 California Avenue in the city’s California-Kirkbride neighborhood. Two-vehicle crash occurs in Collier Township, Allegheny County

(Allegheny County, PA) Pennsylvania State Police in Pittsburgh reported via release yesterday that a two-vehicle crash occurred in Allegheny County on Friday afternoon. At 12:52 p.m., a driver was traveling on I-79 South in Collier Township and a crash occurred between the driver and sixty-two-year-old Janet Lee of Sewickley. Lee was not injured and it is unknown if the other driver involved in this crash was injured.

(Robinson Township, PA) Pennsylvania State Police in Pittsburgh reported via release yesterday that single-vehicle crash occurred in Robinson Township on Tuesday morning. At 4:58 a.m., the driver hit a small metal table in the road on 610 I-376 East. There were no injuries.

(Robinson Township, PA) Pennsylvania State Police in Pittsburgh reported via release yesterday that twenty-two-year-old Mohit Mohit of Fort Wayne, Indiana was charged after causing a single-vehicle crash in Robinson Township on Sunday morning. At approximately 6:55 a.m., Mohit was driving on I-79 North and lost control when negotiating a right curve. The vehicle of Mohit went off of the road and overturned onto its passenger side. Mohit was transported to Allegheny General Hospital because of an injury with an unknown severity.

(Pittsburgh, PA) Pennsylvania Turnpike officials held an open house event last night for community members to get updates about the ongoing Mon-Fayette Expressway Project. The open house was held at the Holiday Inn Express hotel in West Mifflin where developers discussed plans for the third section of the southern portion of the project which will extend the expressway from Route 51 in Jefferson Hills to the Parkway East in Monroeville. According to developers, the goal of the project is to ultimately have a way to quickly travel from the West Virginia state line to the east side of Pittsburgh. The first section of the expressway that goes from Route 51 in Jefferson Hills to Camp Hollow Road in West Mifflin is expected to be open to traffic around the end of 2026.
