Muslim Leader From Ambridge Responds To Donald Trump’s Plan To Bar Muslims From Entering U.S.
A Muslim leader from Beaver County is responding to some controversial remarks regarding Muslims made by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Ali Altahawi is an Iman at the Islamic Center of Ambridge. He tells Beaver County Radio’s Pat Septak that Trump is a “dirty politician” and calls groups like ISIS and Al Qaida “dogs of hell fire” for their violent hijacking of the Islamic religion. He also blasted the news media for not allowing the voice of true Muslims to be heard. He says he was very surprised when Beaver County Radio News reached out to him for an interview for a news story, since in all his years of religious service, not one member of the news media ever asked for his reaction or opinion of anything in the news.
McGuire Memorial Raffles Off Another Car
McGuire Memorial is raffling off another car. Dennis Sabatini, the president and CEO of the McGuire Memorial Foundation, tells Beaver County Radio’s Pat Septak that this year’s car is a collector’s edition 2014 Camaro ZL1 Convertible. Raffle tickets are $25 each. All proceeds will benefit McGuire Memorial. The drawing will be held on February 27th. The winner need not be present. Another Beaver County School District Reports Case of Whooping Cough
Another school district in Beaver County has confirmed a case of whooping cough. The Riverside School District said in a letter to parents that a student at the K-Center was diagnosed with whooping cough, also known as pertussis. The letter advises anyone who is sick with a bad cough to see a doctor. Pertussis is treated with antibiotics. Last month, the Beaver Area School District alerted parents about two cases of whooping cough at College Square and Dutch Ridge elementary schools.
State House Could Vote On Budget Budget Bill Today
State House members today could vote on a $30.3 billion state budget bill, putting the chamber on a potential collision course with the Senate in the 5-month budget impasse. The Senate yesterday approved its own spending and tax plan that includes an overhaul of the state’s public employee pension system.

Penguins End Road Trip
The Penguins four game nine day road trips ends Wednesday Night in Denver. The Pens are 1-2 so far on the trip. Their win was against San Jose a week ago. They lost two close games over the weekend to the LA Kings and the Ducks. Airtime for Wednesday night’s game is 9:30.
Steelers Stretch Run
After hanging 45 points on the on the Indy Colts Sunday Night, the Steelers have two pivotal games against Cincinnati and Denver. The Bengals are first. The game Sunday is at Paul Brown Stadium. WBVP-WMBA air time is 11am. A Steelers win will move them to 8-5 and keep them in the Wild Card hunt. If the Bengals win the clinch the AFC North and sweep the season series for the first time since 2009.
