Zika Virus No Public Health Threat, State Health Authorities Say
State health authorities say there is no public health threat after two female residents tested positive for the Zika virus. Both patients had recently traveled to countries affected by the ongoing outbreak of the mosquito-carried virus.

Banked Robbed In New Brighton
Police are investigating a robbery that took place today at the First National Bank in New Brighton. According to New Brighton police, the bank, located in the one-thousand block of Third Avenue, was robbed shortly before 9:30 this morning by a black man with a large build. They say his face was covered and he was armed with a gun. Surveillance video shows the suspect jumping over a counter to grab cash. No word yet on how much was taken. Police say the employees were shaken up, but no one was hurt. Beaver County Radio is working to learn more on this story. Stay tuned to 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA as this story develops.
Man Convicted Of Killing Pregnant Woman In Ambridge Granted New Trial
A man convicted of killing a pregnant woman in Ambridge in 2012 has been granted a new trial. Marlin Kelly was found guilty of the second-degree murder of 30-year-old Coco Finney and her unborn child, but he’ll get a second chance to prove he’s innocent after the Pennsylvania State Court vacated the judgment. A retrail could take place in the next four months, but the district attorney’s office has the option to appeal to the Supreme Court.
Wolf Sends PA Lawmakers Proposed Spending Plan For Coming Fiscal Year
The budget for the current year remains in limbo but Governor Tom Wolf today sends Pennsylvania lawmakers a proposed spending plan for the coming fiscal year. The Democrat’s plan totals roughly $32 billion but also depends on getting Republicans to swallow a $1 billion-plus tax increase.
State Senate Votes Wednesday On Whether To Remove Kane From Office
Senate Republican leader Joe Scarnati says the chamber will vote Wednesday on whether to remove Attorney General Kathleen Kane. Kane is awaiting trial on criminal charges and has been without a valid law license since October. She says the Senate action to remove her is unconstitutional.

Geneva College Announces New President
A big announcement came from Geneva College today: 54-year-old Calvin Troup will take office on the Beaver Falls campus as Geneva’s 20th president this spring. Troup is a Geneva alum and is currently an associate professor in Duquesne’s Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies, a campus where he has worked for two decades. Troup was introduced to the students, faculty and staff of the college during a brief ceremony this afternoon.
