New RMU Poll Shows Respondents Favor The Pope Over Trump

A new poll out today from Robert Morris University in Moon Township shows the pope with a favorability rate of 69% compared to a 31% favorability rating for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. This survey was conducted before the controversy between the two figures in which Pope Francis questioned Trump’s Christianity due to his plan to construct a wall between the U.S. and Mexico. Trump responded by saying the pope had no right to question his faith, but later blamed the media for blowing the conflict out of proportion. These figures show Trump was likely wise to downplay the situation, as this poll shows that even his supporters have a 71% favorability rating for the pope.
