Commissioner Dan Camp said the commissioners, the solicitor and the law department will meet with the Nottingham Group, the company that did the audit of Friendship Ridge, on Friday. Police and Fire Officials Earn High Praise From Ambridge Borough Council During Donald Trump Visit
Ambridge borough council met last night and president Mike Mikulich commended the police, and fire, departments and all other involved, including the boro manager and his staff in connection with Donald Trump’s rally on Monday. According to Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano, Tina Iorfido Miller said that the school district didn’t heed Chief James Mann or State Rep. Rob Matzie’s recommendation to close the schools, instead there was early dismissal. The event was held at the high school’s field house.
Alexic Korol and Lexi Palombo had nowhere to walk their dogs in town and with public support built a dog park in Walter Panek Park. They presented the borough with a check for $2,441 for the park.
Aliquippa School District Attempts To Teach Students Benefits Of Positive Behavior
STRIVE is Aliquippa School District’s positive behavior program according to high school teacher Joie Dusold . Mrs. Dusold said that elementary principal A’frica T. Sheppard came up with the slogan. Mrs. Dusold is a member of the team , and students , according to the program are to stay focused, take responsibilty, respect everyone, inspire others, value education, and expect success. Mrs. Dusold teaches learning support and math.The program is for the elementary and junior-senior high school.

Man Charged In Beaver Falls Shooting Death
An arrest has been made in a local murder case. A Beaver Falls man who has previously been acquitted of a homicide is facing a new homicide charge. 24-year-old Tyrone Savage was charged this morning in the Friday night shooting death of 25-year-old Justin Simmons of Aliquippa. The murder occurred in the Morado Dwellings housing complex in Beaver Falls. According to the Beaver County coroner’s office, Simmons died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
County Commissioner Dan Camp Tells Beaver County Radio News It’s Time To Move On From Last Week
Beaver County Commissioner Dan Camp says he’s ready to move on and put last week’s controversial firing of the commissioner’s chief of staff behind them. Chief of staff Joe Weidner was fired by two thirds of the commissioners on Wednesday night. Camp was not consulted before Weidner’s dismissal, but he tells Beaver County Radio newsman Pat Septak that he wasn’t against the firing of Weidner itself, but rather he was against the way the other two commissioners excluded Camp from the decision-making process. Camp says that he is currently looking at the budget to see if other cuts can be made.
Rothfus Tells Beaver County Radio News He’s Sticking By Trump Despite Trump’s Comments On Women
Republican 12th District Congressman Keith Rothfus of Sewickley was at the Donald Trump rally in Ambridge on Monday. Rothfus tells Beaver County Radio News that he believes that Trump, if elected, will live up to the promises he’s made on the campaign trail. He says he’s sticking by Trump, even though he spoke out against recorded comments Trump made that were widely viewed as disrespectful to women.
Deer Survives 40-Foot Plunge From Bridge In Homewood Borough
A Homewood borough official says a deer survived a 40-foot plunge from a bridge into the municipal garage over the weekend. The Beaver County Times reports that the six-point buck apparently jumped off the Homewood bridge that carries the Pennsylvania Turnpike over Route 18 in the borough. Council president Alan DeSanzo says he found the animal in the garage Sunday morning.
