One of Beaver Counties most prominent and popular businessman Bill Camp has died. Mr. Camp was 81 years old and was a 1954 Graduate of Beaver Falls High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Bill and his Brother Jim opened Fast & Friendly Food Store in Beaver Falls in the 1960’s which grew into a chain of Convenience Stores throughout Beaver County. Bill then purchased the Giant Eagle in the old GEE BEE’s plaza in the 80’s and then built Rochester Giant Eagle in the downstairs of the former Kaufmann’s Department store in the late 1980’s and built a second location in Chippewa in the 1990’s. Bill was very visual in the community and loved helping others whether he knew you or not. Bill played a very key role in the Tony Dorsett Mc Guire Memorial golf outing along with so many other charities that he supported throughout our community. Camp Sold his Grocery stores in the early 2000’s to spend more time with his family. He is survived by his wife and 5 children. Bill’s son Chris is the current owner of Fun For All in Cranberry. A viewing for Bill will be held today at the Devlin Funeral Home in Cranberry. Bill Camp will be laid to rest on Saturday morning.
