The 19th annual Drive For The Blind Charity Golf Scramble presented by the Beaver County Association For The Blind will be hold on Friday, May 26th at 1:00 pm at Blackhawk Golf Course on Blackhawk Road in Beaver Falls. There will be a Chinese auction and a a 50/50 drawing.

Beaver Valley Choral Society
From June 14th to the 16th and June 19th to the 23rd, you can take part in the Beaver Valley Choral Society and Rochester Area School District’s 2017 Summer Choral and Instrumental Music Academy. Teen Suspect Charged With Fatal Shooting In Aliquippa
Police have charged a teenager with the shooting death of a 30-year-old man in Aliquippa on Saturday night. Beaver County Coroner David J. Gabauer said 30-year-old Tremayne Foster of Aliquippa, died of a gunshot wound to the back and neck. The shooting occurred at about 9 p.m. in the 500 block of Wykes Street. Foster was found shot in front of a house in the 700 block of Griffith Street. Police say that Foster was shot during a domestic dispute with the mother of his infant. Police said a 16-year-old male has been charged with the slaying. Aliquippa police are investigating.
Ambridge Borough Receives An AED
Ambridge Borough Building, as the result of a grant from Aidan’s Heart Foundation received a Automated External Defibrillator and has been place, according to Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano. The device is readily accessible should a caridac-related emergency occur , according to Borough Manager Joe Kauer . The borough thanks the foundation for the donation . Aidan Silva died in 2010 from SIDS, and the foundation a 501c3 was formed shortly after.
Yianni’s Re-Opens In Aliquippa
Yianni’s Restaurant located at 2203 Sheffield Road , Aliquippa was destroyed by fire on June 22, 2016, and reopened March 3 after a complete rebuilding., according to Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano . The cause was electrical, a cooler refrigerator caught fire, according to Demetrios Pantzoulas, son of Yianni and Bassie Pantzoulas, the owners. The establishment was rebuilt in eight months. Demetrios said that they added 30 more seats and business is good, there was a lot of support from the city after the fire, and without the first responders , it would have been tough. Demetrios said that the business’s insurance covered all of the costs to rebuild , they’ve been located there since 1994. “It’s new, it’s clean, it’s what we needed here, everyone can come here and meet.” It was very busy Sunday morning, they specialize in breakfast all seats were filled and waitresses were taking and delivering orders to the tables where hungry patrons sat. Hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. 7 days a week, a complete breakfast menu, and great lunch specials , They are known for their burgers, soups, (all homemade), salads and 16 ounce fish sandwich., Demetrios said. A plaque on the wall says ‘HAPPINESS IS HOMEMADE” Many happy faces filled the restaurant on Sunday. Demetrios owns Scoops and More, across from the Old Tonidale Hotel in Robinson Township, along with working with his parents.
WORK TO BEGIN THIS WEEK IN CRANBERRY AND ZELIENOPLE
WORK BEGINS THIS WEEK ON A PORTION OF INTERSTATE 79 IN BUTLER COUNTY. PENNDOT SAYS THE RESURFACING WORK WILL BEGIN TODAY ON A PORTION OF ROADWAY NORTH IN CRANBERRY AND JACKSON TOWNSHIPS, NORTH OF THE ROUTE 288 EXIT AND SOUTH OF THE ZELIENOPLE EXIT. PENNDOT SAYS DRIVERS SHOULD EXPECT LONG-TERM LANE RESTRICTIONS. ONCE THE WORK GETS COMPLETED IN THE NORTHBOUND LANES, WORK WILL THEN START ON THE SOUTHBOUND LANES.
2017 Beaver County Maple Syrup Festival Day 2
The weather was great for day 2 of the 40th Beaver County Maple Syrup Festival. People came out by the hundreds to fill their bellies with some great pancakes. 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA did a live broadcast live from Brady’s Run Park. The line was long for the Personality Prize wheel and kept Frank Sparks and Matt Drzik busy throughout the day.
