The Penn State Master Gardeners Don Buffington and Adele Whipple made their monthly appearance on Teleforum with Frank Sparks on Tuesday October 2, 2018 at 9:10 am.
On the docket this month was winter prep as we are only a couple of weeks from the falls first frost. The master gardeners talked about cleaning out your garden and general yard and plant prep for the cold months ahead. Don and Adele also answered questions from the listeners via telephone calls.
Don and Adele will be back again next month on November 6, 2018 at 9:10 a.m.
In a continuing series highlighting local candidates for the PA house of Representatives Amy Fazio Democratic Candidate for the 14th District of Pa House of Representatives was a guest on Teleforum with Frank Sparks on Tuesday October 2, 2018 from 10:10 to 11:00 a.m..
Mrs. Fazio a Daugherty Township resident and member of the New Brighton School Board is running against current 14th District Republican Representative Jim Marshall. Fazio is married to her husband Bryan and has a 12 year old daughter. Amy also runs her own business out of her home. A native of Buffalo, N.Y., where her father was a police officer, Fazio has lived here for 15 years while her husband’s family has five generations in the county. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College in 1996 and a master’s from Colorado State University in 2001.
During Amy’s interview she stressed education and what a passion it is to her and some ideas she has if elected that she would like to introduce. Amy answered questions from the listeners via telephone and Facebook Live.
Frank’s next guest in the continuing series will be Josh Kail a Republican who is running against Democrat Terri Mitko in the 15th District on Thursday October 18, at 10:10 a.m. and Current 10th District Representative Republican Aaron Bernstine at 11:10 a.m. the same day. The final candidate in the series will be current 14th District Representative Republican Jim Marshall on October 24, 2018 at 11:10 a.m..

The Monaca Community Hall of Fame will hold its thirty-fourth annual banquet on Sunday, October 21st at Monaca Turners, Brodhead Road in Monaca. The Hall of Fame is located at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue in Moncaca and is open by appointment. It contains and displays various memorabilia of residents and events collected over the years.
