(Bridgewater, PA) The atmosphere was literally charged up with excitement as the Chargers’ football team from Our Lady Of Sacred Heart High School along with head coach Dan Bradley were the special guests at Coaches Corner on Wednesday October 11, 2017, on the Sports Patio and Winter Lodge at Robert’s Roadside Inn in Bridgewater. Fresh off a big win over previously undefeated Rochester, The players, coaches and fans in attendance had plenty to be “charged up” about.
In addition to being excited about having a great season, there was more to be astonished about last night. Perhaps for the first time ever, the son of a player previously honored as a player of the game twenty some years ago ago at Coaches Corner, as Richard Banks, Jr. was a CCBC Player Of The Game and interviewed during the broadcast. Two decades ago, Richard Banks Sr., a player for Aliquippa High school, and part of the 1997 state championship basketball team, was showcased in the same manner.
Along with the Banks’ father and son players of the game combination, yet another twenty year throwback was part of the program too, as Bruce Frey showed his ability to stay in shape over the course of time by still being able to fit into a “50th Season” WBVP polo shirt which he wore with pride Wednesday evening. This year marks the 70th season for high school football coverage on WBVP.
As usual, Bob Barrickman and Bruce Frey hosted the program, which airs every Wednesday night from 7 to 8 P.M. live on WBVP and WMBA. Attendees and guests were treated to free pizza courtesy of Pizza Joe’s in Beaver, and free wings from Robert’s Roadside Inn.

Beaver County Radio did a live broadcast at Senior Day at the Beaver Valley Mall on Wednesday October 11, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Frank Sparks, host of Teleforum and Diane Brosius, host of Yankee trader hosted all the fun. Frank and Diane interviewed many of the vendors that were at Senior Day presented by the Beaver County Office on Aging. Angela Gentile from the Office on Aging works hard throughout the year to bring great Senior Day’s at the Mall to the residents of Beaver County. The theme was I.T./Technology. Angela explained that with today’s technology some of our seniors feel lost and confused and she thought it would be a good thing to showcase the different types of education that is available to bring seniors up to speed. Some of the vendors that were at Senior Day highlighted many of the available resources for Seniors in Beaver County from Healthcare to activities to get out and enjoy life. If you have any household materials that are being unused and need to be properly disposed of, then Saturday, October 14 is the day you want to head out to Brady’s Run Park in Fallston. That’s because the Beaver County Department of Waste Management will be, from 9 AM to 1 PM, collecting household materials that contain hazardous chemicals that will harm property and the environment if not disposed of properly.
Holly Vogt, Director of The BC Department of Waste Management, discussed the details of the upcoming event with Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County. She explained what materials are going to be collected (paints, batteries, polystyrene), the process of which they will be collected, and the help that she and the department are grateful for.
