Another wild Beaver Valley Conference affair took place at Sarge Alberts Stadium, and again it came down to the last seconds.

This time, however, it was the home team who ran out of time.

The Beaver Falls Tigers earn a 27-21 over the Central Valley Warriors on WBVP Friday night. The Warriors’ final drive stalled near the Tigers’ 25 when the offense failed to get a snap off with two seconds to go.

With the loss, Central Valley drops to 5-1 in the BVC (6-2 overall), while Beaver Falls improves to 4-1 in the conference (6-1 overall).

Nico Battisti (CV) and Malik Shepherd (BF) were chosen as the CCBC Players of The Game.

Beaver 55, Hopewell 14

The game was played in a field named after Tony Dorsett, but the game belonged to Darius Wise.

The Beaver Bobcats make it look easy in a 55-14 victory over the Hopewell Vikings. The victory improves Beaver’s record in the Beaver Valley Conference to 4-1 (and 6-1 overall). Hopewell drops to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the BVC.

Christopher Jones of Hopewell and Tyler Wallace of Beaver were named tonight’s CCBC Players of The Game.

Coyote Sightings Reported in Potter Township

An alert Potter Township resident contacted the PA GAME COMMISSION’S SOUTHWEST REGIONAL OFFICE  earlier this week after  some residents sighted young coyotes near their homes. Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano reports that the areas where they were sighted are Mowry and Fishpot Roads. Matt Kramer, game commissioner, said that the coyotes are on their own for the first time. The area where the sightings occurred  in the early evening are wooded, and residents are advised not to leave trash out side, and to safeguard their pets by bringing them indoors or  kept on a leash. Rebecca Matsco, township supervisor;s chairman,  said that the coyotes being present isn’t something the  township can regulate act on. Kramer advised residents “Be concientous of your surroundings.” He added, residents can go to the game commission’s website:www.pgc.pa.gov and download the ‘LIVING WITH A COYOTE’ link.

Cornell School District Homecoming Football Game Moved To Afternoon

The Cornell School District is only allowing players’ parents into their homecoming football game this weekend. The move was made over safety concerns after the cheerleaders staged a national anthem protest during a visit by war veterans. Officials say the game against Shenango will also be played in the afternoon, instead of at night.

Overdose Medication Narcan Now Available In Some Beaver County Schools

The life-saving overdose medication Narcan has been made available in 128 public high schools across Pennsylvania, including the Western Beaver Junior and Senior High School and the Riverside Beaver County School District in Beaver County. Also included were the Moon Area School District in Allegheny County and the Seneca Valley School District in Butler County. Governor Tom Wolf said yesterday that the state partnered with Adapt Pharma to make the heroin and opioid antidote available to schools at no cost. School districts that have not yet obtained Narcan, but want to, may file an application with the Department of Health.

Krista Harmotto Dietzen Day Observed In Hopewell Area School District

Krista Harmotto Dietzen Day was observed in the Hopewell Area School District today.  According to Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano, all students were asked to wear blue and gold to  honor Dietzen, a Hopewell grad and  2016 Silver Medal Volleyball champ. Dietzen was honored in  August with a parade and event  held at Dorsett Stadium.

Trump Rally And Schools Superintent The Subject Of Ambridge School Board Monthly Work Session

The Ambridge Area School Board held its monthly work session last night , and according to Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano, after comments and questions from residents they told the group that the Trump rally went well, and the district was paid $750  deposit prior to Monday’s event, and will be paid $4,333.10 from the campaign for the event that attracted about 5,000 people. Another resident questioned how the search for a new superintendent was going and was told  that a committee has been formed to do a search .  Any information concerning the search should be available on the district’s website  within the next 2 weeks. Dr. Joseph Dimperio has been filling in since the  sick leave, and later the resignation of Dr. Cynthia Zurchin. The board’s regular meeting is next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
