State police in Beaver County are investigating two instances that happened 30 minutes apart in which rocks were thrown at moving vehicles on Interstate 376 in Brighton Township. The first incident happened shortly before 1 a.m. Monday when rocks were thrown from alongside the highway in Brighton Township at two Gordon Food Service Trucks. No one was hurt in that incident, which happened in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 35.5 Thirty minutes later police reported a rock was thrown at a moving vehicle near Chapel Road. In that situation the rock hit the hood and went through the windshield of the vehicle which had two people inside. No injuries were reported. No arrests have been announced.

Two Separate Overnight Shootings Under Investigation in Beaver County
Authorities in Beaver County are investigating after two separate shootings last night. The first occurred at around 8 p.m. One person was shot in the 700 block of Riverview Drive in Rochester. One hour later, a person was shot in the 1000 block of Davis Street in Aliquippa. Both victims were taken to the hospital by ambulance. No word on their conditions or what prompted either shooting.
CCBC Players Of The Game Honored at Coaches Corner
(Bridgewater, PA) Two of Beaver County’s finest high school football players were honored at the weekly Coaches Corner broadcast Wednesday evening at Robert’s Roadside Inn.

Tyler Williams from New Brighton and Mahki Robinson from Ambridge were selected as CCBC Players Of The Game earlier in the year during high school football broadcasts on WBVP and WMBA. Both players were interviewed during Coaches Corner and enjoyed free pizza from Pizza Joe’s In Beaver and free wing’s from Robert’s Roadside Inn. Hosts Bob Barrickman, Tom Hays, Kerry Lacey and Bruce Fry conduct the weekly sports talk show on Beaver County Radio.

Coaches Corner is broadcast live every Wednesday from 7 to 8 P.M. from the sports patio at Robert’s Roadside Inn. The public is welcome to attend.
The 206 New Brighton Halloween Parade

Commissioner Sandie Egley Puts Questions Regarding Renovations Of Her Office To Rest
Commissioners chairman Sandie Egley says she and her family are paying for the cost of renovating her office. Egley says it cost less than 12-hundred dollars to paint the walls and lay down a hardwood floor. The renovation of Egley’s office was in question because of no available information at the time added to the county budget crunch.
Center Township Police Officer Resigns Abruptly; Move Under Investigation
Center Township’s DARE officer Jeff Stone resigned recently, according to police Chief Barry Kramer. Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano reports that Kramer said that he contacted the state police to investigate why the officer resigned.
Hopewell Police Say Man Stashed Body Under A Bed For Weeks
A local panhandler in Hopewell is accused of hiding a dead body for at least three weeks under his bed – the same bed where his girlfriend died from a heroin overdose in August. 36-year-old Donald Teaford was arrested last week on charges of abuse of a corpse. The dead man is 33-year-old Justin Cogan, according to the coroner in Beaver County. The cause of death has not been determined. Teaford is being held in the Beaver County Jail pending a hearing next month.
Security Cameras To Be Installed Soon at schools in Hopewell Area School District
Hopewell School Board met last night and announced the resignation of 3 transportation aides, and the retirement of one aide. According to Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano, they are: Marissa Henry, Thomas Hunt, Kristie Conrad, and Carol Dishong who is retiring. Olivia Costanza, a current transportation aide’s status, will now be substitute. Nicholas Slapikas ‘s status was changed to full time English teacher at the high school. The board announced that John Lasky, high school custodian will retire on January 2, 2017. In other action, the board will solicit bids for the purchase and installation of security cameras at the junior high school and the high school. Supt. Dr. Michelle miller said that the current systems are outdated.
