The first game on this frigid Friday night was Central Valley at Beaver. It was a very tight game going into the half, Central valley was leading by one point. It remained a close game until the final quarter, when Central Valley ran away with it. The Community College of Beaver County players of the game are: for Central Valley, Tyler Walker with 23 points and Beaver’s, Mike Champ with 22 points. The final score was Central Valley-71 Beaver-59.

Tolls Going Up On Pennsylvania Turnpike Beginning Sunday
A new year means higher tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Motorists will see a 6 percent increase for cash and E-ZPass beginning Sunday. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission says the increase, approved by commissioners last July, is needed to meet funding and capital-improvement obligations.

It was a freezing night in Pittsburgh and the Penguins started sluggish and finished frozen. The Penguins never pushed the tempo of play, although they did have chances to score, it never happened. Carolina outscored Pittsburgh 4-0, and all goals scored were during five-on-five play. The Penguins had only 21 shots tonight, the fewest throughout the season. The Pens travel to Brooklyn, New York tomorrow to take on the Islanders for a 7:00 p.m. start.
